Rock Band 3 adds Tears for Fears, Marilyn Manson, The B-52s and Def Leppard
27
The Rock Band Twitter account has been a real beehive of activity as of late. No wonder, considering Harmonix has slowly been teasing new artists coming to Rock Band 3. So far, Tears for Fears, Marilyn Manson, The B-52s and Def Leppard have been confirmed for the game.
Harmonix promises to slowly trickle out more artists as Comic-Con progresses this weekend, so we'll be sure to relay the info as it's made available. In the meanwhile, we suggest you grab your hot pants and celebrate!
[Thanks, Conor]

Oh dear lord. Insert "Drumming One-handed Achievement" joke here.

@masteraj1991 Zep is NEVER going to happen. They are very stingy about licensing their music.
Pink Floyd probably won't do it unless they're promised a whole game for themselves, which honestly wouldn't be too bad.

That's not true. "Time" and "Money"...Dark Side songs, would be great to play on all instruments, they may be a little slow, but they'res always something to play in those songs.

There is only one Pink Floyd song that needs to be in Rock Band 3. That song is "Pigs (Three Different Ones)." Any other tracks would just be gravy.

It's not about being stingy when it comes to licensing; the band just absolutely doesn't want their music in a rhythm game. So until all members are dead, it ain't gon' happen.

I see what you did there...and I like it.
I'm kinda in either way if only for keytar time.

I'm not a Manson fan, but I did love some songs from Anti-Christ, and Mechanical Animals. Is Mechanical Animals part of the "trilogy"?

@mywhitenoise Yeah, the trilogy is Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals & Holy Wood..
Definatly interested in a bit of keytar.. maybe it's the RB1 guitar, I just can't strum as fast as on my real guitars, and they have thick string sets, it just feels a little off, especially with songs with open notes made harder because your holding green, tying up a finger..

@Asok Oh gawd yes. There's nothing quite like playing Just Cause 2 while blasting that song. Tears for Fears ftw.

It'll only be awesome if the Def Leppard tracks are from On Through the night, High and Dry (which EA had license to Let it Go for an SSX game), Pyromania, or Hysteria. The RB Def Leppard pack was an insult. The most terrible live versions of good songs and then whatever that country track was. If you want my money again Harminix your going to need at least 5 Classic Def Leppard songs, ALBUM VERSIONS.

That was Guitar Hero that had the Def Leppard pack. This will be the first time we have had Def Leppard on a Rock Band game.
But yes, those live versions did suck.

@umainebearman I agree those are great albums, but I'd also like to see alot of stuff from Adrenalize, Retro Active, Slang, Euphoria and YEAH!
Also, Nine Lives was a great song and it was not country either.

@(Unverified) That's why Pro mode is going to be awesome. I'm just as sick of Guitar Hero/Rock Band as the next guy but when the game starts teaching you how to actually play the songs, well, that's just a whole new reason to get excited again. And at least all the chuckleheads can stop saying "WHY DONTCHA LEARN HOW TO PLAY A REAL GUITAR"
