Arc System Works has finally revealed a launch date for the PC port of the first entry in its budding new fighting series, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. Japanese gaming site 4Gamer reports Aksys Games is priming the Games For Windows Live version of the frenetic fighter for an August 26 PC release in Japan, for a suggested retail price of ¥5,040 ($58). Consider us thoroughly shocked.
We've contacted Aksys Games for word on whether the PC version will be coming to our neck of the woods. We'll be sure to update you as soon as we hear back. For the console gamers out there, the sequel, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, is set to launch in North America next week.

@viewtyd Blazblue has a story mode and since it expands on the plot it is in a sense a sequel. SSFIV kept the story the same. The characters are fighting in the SIN tournament. BB's story in Continuum Shift is different than the one in Calamity Trigger.

Yes, I do. Fighting games are generally about, well, fighting, but having story adds depth to the characters and is like an added bonus. Games shouldn't be too shallow. I'd at least like a reason to why these people are just fighting it out. It shows the developers put some effort into the game making.

I think shit like this is lame. Why would anyone buy this version when the next installment of the game is gonna drop on consoles in a week? CT is basically dead already and in a week it will be completely forgotton.
The only people that are gonna buy this are the people that "want to support the industry." What a waste of money but whatever.

Hope it drops in for bargain prices. Bringing in the first game a MONTH AFTER THE SEQUEL HITS CONSOLES is not a good business move. In fact, it looks like they're trolling for an excuse to not cater to the PC market, since the arcade version has been hacked to work with ordinary PCs.
This coming with the whole Makoto DLC thing, and I'm starting to lose faith in Aksys/Arc Sys.
