DC Universe Online trailer pulls the ol' switcheroo

Actually, you know what? The recently revealed Comic-Con trailer for DC Universe Online pulls two ol' switcheroos -- one you'll realize after watching the video posted below. The other? Well, the other switcheroo is that the trailer is inconceivably, expectation-shatteringly hot.

And the best part is, if you have a PS+ Subscription, you don't have to pay the monthly fee to play it. :)

Where did you hear that? Everything I read is that it's still $15 a month, as this doesn't make sense....especially for the PC version where the is no PSN+.

If you go to 4:06 in the Liveblog, he says that if you have a PS+ subscription, there will be no additional subscription needed to play the game.

@Wiizer That would not happen... because then why would you pay $15 over $4 a month? Makes no sense. Maybe you'd get a discount of $5 a month, but definitely not free.

Yeah, that trailer was awesome but that was just CGI.

Is the actual gameplay as good as that trailer?

This is just as awesome as that Star Wars MMO trailer recently, but I bet both games will be about 1% as fun as watching the trailers.

sucks to say but you're probably right... Damn near every MMO in existence boils down to the same grind patterns. Still awaiting GW2, cause GW was like the only exception, and it was free = )

Same. And I love how Anet is releasing snippets of actual game footage to show off the professions instead of making CGI trailers.

I love watching trailers oftentimes more than I like playing games...I wish they'd do more full-featured movies that look like the trailers.

This trailer is pretty sweet. Hope the game follows through. And if this is included in PS + then I might actually subscribe to PS+.

@joeboosauce It's not included, there just clarifying that you don't need PS+ to subscribe to the game.

I was volcanically-excited for this until I heard about that monthly subscription a while back. Bit of a letdown.

And speaking of DC, I want my Green Lantern trailer from Comic Con.

It's very rare that you will find any major big title MMO with-out a monthly fee. However from what others have been saying about a DEV saying that if you have PSN+ you wont have to pay the montly fee.

That right there will make me get PSN+ becuase i was going to be playing this game.

Am I the only one who thought the battle armor for the flash and joker ( as well as the rest of the crew ) were made of pure badassery?

Needless to say the game can't look quite as well as the trailer does, but it does set the stage for plot, something most MMOs are sorely lacking.

What the trailer points out more than anything else is that they may be going the same type of route WoW does in terms of factions. Sure there are opposing factions for PVP purposes but for PVE they'll likely run the same end game type content. It's a good call that makes sense.

Knowing that the game now has a context that goes beyond "you're a good (or bad) guy, you don't like the bad (or good) guys" has likely made me a day one player. Launch day snafus be damned!

Also, they made the flash look extremely slow

@m0c3 they just slowed everything around him down to a crawl....kinda hard to really capture the speed of flash in a game....

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi Well I thought he look crazy slow, did you see how long it took for him to go help the green lantern? Meanwhile superman moved to where he wanted in a blink of an eye when he was fighting luthor or who ever it was.

@m0c3 It depends on what version of flash this is; He might not be at full strength yet or he could be affected and lost connection with the speed force only relying on his normal super speed powers.

Awww crap! I didn't want to want this game, I so wanted it to suck and a lot of the GPF leading up to this had made it out to be potential suck but DAMN! Now I've got to get this. Great another game to add to my collection. :-P

So, when Black Adam says shazam and turns back into a human, he makes a huge explosion, but then he somehow turns back into Black Adam without making a big explosion.... mhm...

@Tommy S No, No! That is one of black adams tricks. You see he says shazam and than runs away so that the bolt hits his enemy instead of himself. It's part of his Power of Atom.

"OK, so....please don't ask anything about this game, just buy it-look at this completely unrelated short film we made for you!"

Only problem with this trailer is it makes playing as your own superhero even more unattractive. I want to play as THOSE characters in this scenario, not Mr. AwesomeDude.
