Super Street Fighter IV's brawlers getting new DLC outfits this fall
50
We wouldn't blame you for confusing yesterday's Street Fighter-focused Comic-Con panel for a wedding ceremony -- after all, it contained announcements of something old, something new, something borrowed (that is to say, fighters from Tekken) and ... well, Chun-Li's new outfit is blue, isn't it? Fine, the analogy doesn't quite work, but the fact remains: Series producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that all of Super Street Fighter IV's characters would receive new outfits in a DLC pack to be released this fall.
Kotaku caught an image of the slide showing off some of these new outfits, including a Catwoman-esque get-up for Cammy, and a nightmarish, open-chested leather suit for Rufus. Note that we're using "nightmarish" in the literal sense, here. As in: "We plan to have nightmares about this, possibly as soon as tonight."

Ridiculous! The sad thing is, thousands of people will spend good money on something so lame. They will spend money on something they never notice unless they arent playing or they are sitting on the character select screen.
But thats ok, as long as the crapcom big wigs get to eat at fine restraunts and drive 100,000 dollar cars around. Will they use that money to perhaps improve the netcode they use so that americans can play online against thier eastern counterparts? Of course not.

Everyone gets it. Your moronic reply is what every sucker that did pay for them says. Of course no one forces suckers to pay for it. But the people that are paying for it are letting these companys know that its ok to charge for shit that is on the disc. In a few years they will be charging you to unlock Ken and Ryu and whatever because of suckers like you.

Fans have been loyal to capcom dispite the ripoff revolution they are starting with dlc, including with Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter 4, and now Super Street Fighter 4. Not being able to unlock these things through winning or playtime is highway robbery. I refuse to pay 5 bucks a pop for a costume pack * 6 * each version of the same game, especially when you are really paying for an unlock code for content that is already on the disc. It's like the Top In App Purchases on the IPhone: Pay $40 for the game. Then charge for micro purchases until you reach $80 per customer that wants to unlock the full game that is likely already on the disc. Brilliant actually, because not many would be suckered in if they had charged the full $65 in the beginning. I'm done paying for dlc for this game and will wait for the full dlc pack to go in sale for no more than $5. It may be a while, but I have plenty of good uses for that money, like buying discounted full games on amazon or steam. Don't be a sucker :P

Never. I think that is just as lame and sends the same message to microsft. There are so many suckers that are playing games now and these game companys are taking advantage of it. In the end they're in it to make money and they want yours. And they will get it.
The only way they get my money is when the put out a game or dlc that alters the gameplay. I would never spend my hard earned money on clothes/costumes for a game character.

@Khazidhea I don't see it that way! The gameplay is awesome. I just hit 60 hours played in SSF4 and I love to see the new costumes. Robo-gief, come on! Playing people online, and constantly seeing an alternate costume and particular color scheme- believe it or not keeps the game a bit fresher!
I look at old games that couldn't do DLC 10 years ago, and if I could have paid a couple bucks to further modify a game I loved, I'm sure I would have!
Maybe if it was between costumes, and eating.... I would have something to think about. But I have a job!

Who doesnt have a job? Its fine that you like to waste your money on stupid shit like this. What is not fine is that every time you do you're basically just sending these companys a letter saying "we gamers love having our wallets raped, can you do it some more?"
And no, having shit like this doesnt refresh a game. I play a lot of CvS2 and A3 and Ive been playing them for years and never once wished I could get new costumes for my characters because the game was getting stale.
anticrawl - thats a terrible comparison. People need clothes to help ward off the elemenents. Your game avatar needs it for what? So he looks nice for the few seconds you see him before your game starts?
I can understand these kids wanting to get the girly outfits because they are little balls of raging hormons and thats as close to a woman as they are gonna get for a while.
