It's two expansions instead of one. I don't see how that's milking...?

well no wonder they are all gone if they go around basically selling the game at cost. I believe the the ceo of kmart sears needs to learn the definition of profit and how that keeps the doors open and lights on.

1: Sell high demand game for $60 with $20 gift card
2: ???????
3: Profit

Anybody else so pissed they're milking us 3 times for what is essentially 1 game that they aren't buying it? Of course I'm blame Activision for this triple release bs.

@Genaldar

Not really. I still think of it as three games' worth of material with just some overlapping multiplayer. Which is mostly fine to me because it'll be damn good multiplayer. I've bought RPG sets that continue the same storyline and have mostly the same gameplay. For all intents and purposes, they could be bundled together as "the same game," but the amount of content in each one is equivalent to a stand-alone game.

I think that "the same game" mentality is a little misleading. It's not really the case that any game, every game, is worth $60. Downloadable games are generally light on content and fairly cheap. MMORPG's are expensive over the long run, but the developers are usually churning out new content over that time.

If, however, you are mostly concerned with the multiplayer and won't even look at the single player campaigns, then I think that you're right. Getting a full priced game just to have a couple of units isn't really worth it. Now that I'm thinking about it, they really should release a simple multiplayer-only expansion that doesn't have the expensive single player parts in it. If they're worried about too many people forgoing the single player purchase, they could put a delay on the multiplayer packs. Maybe sell it for like $30? Or $20? Would something like that relieve some of your outrage?

@LockeDaemonfire

The original starcraft was essentially 3 games in 1.
They didn't sell that 3 times, but now they are.
and they took out LAN play.

that, I think, is the reason there is outrage.

@LockeDaemonfire But it's not 3 games. Unless the campaigns are all 3 times longer than they were in the first one it is one game, sold to us in pieces. Now if the first game was $50 and the other 2 were $20 each, or less, than that would be fine. But as is they're screwing everyone. Those of us who want to play all 3 single player campaigns would have to shell out $150. And people who want to play multiplayer have to wait until all 3 are out. At least if they want to experience the classic way to play. Not to mention they'll either be locked into 1 race, unless they shell out for all 3.

@Ordeith Exactly. Twelve years ago it was one game, suddenly the sequel is three games. That's BS, unless there is 3 times the content. Which there won't be. The best part is you know a year or so after the 3 campaign comes out they'll sell a "Complete Edition" for $90 or something. Which will include an exclusive unit or 2 for each race just to get the suckers to buy the entire game a second time. Or would it be a fourth time. That's why I'm voting with my wallet. I want to play the campaigns, I wouldn't play it online becuase I don't really need to get beat by 14 year olds in yet another game, but I won't be.

@Genaldar I meant $60 each or $180 for the set, I keep forgetting not only are they triple dipping, but they released the first $60 PC game that I recall ever seeing. Way to go Blizzard.

I just picked up a copy at the KMart in Bozeman. The coupon prints with the receipt and is only good for video game purchase. But it doesn't expire until 1/1/2011.

@Proghog, you can't apply it to the same purchase. But I guess you could apply it to your second copy if you buy them separately.

@BaronVonBronow If people wanted to be jackasses they could buy it, then buy a second copy with the coupon and return the first copy.
