Gorillaz: Escape to Plastic Beach via iPad and iPhone

Gorillaz, the best nonexistent cartoon band since the Archies, appears in a new iPhone/iPad game called Gorillaz: Escape to Plastic Beach. Even though the concept of the game seems to be about escaping from Plastic Beach. Players control psychotic bassist Murdoc, who flies above Plastic Beach on a "Doom Glider," shooting ghost pirate ships and, for some reason, keeping lead singer 2D from getting away.

The Unity-powered game was released simultaneously on iPhone and iPad today, with each version available for $1.99. In addition, it can be purchased as a Unity-powered browser game. Check out some screens of this fairly improbable game in our gallery!

Yeah, the singer went crazy after the last album and the rest of the band had to kidnap him to bring him to Plastic Beach.

Anyway, Gorillaz is overmonetizing. Their website has several level of paid membership. Such bullshit.

The album is alright.

And Plastic Beach feels more like a soundtrack for a Gorillaz movie. I liked Demon Days so much more.

I lied. There is only one level, but its 30 pound for the year. Its just a way of getting tickets ahead of scalpers.

@Korova Pamplona The way I see it, the more money they have the more animation they can do. I don't get why people are constantly upset at artists for making money. All the youtube comments I saw about this game were angry ones, why are people so mad at Gorillaz for making some little iPhone game? Especially considering you have to pay several people's salaries to come out with a game, I don't see how $2 for a game is so unreasonable.
