I have seriously given up all hope of getting "good" PSone games on the US PSN store. I mean at the risk of sounding like a broken record... where is Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Mr. Domino, Intelligent Qube, Jade Cocoon, Chocobo Racing and Legend of Dragoon? What are they doing over at SCEA where they think... You know what people really want?!? Horrible kids movie games from 10+ years ago! My word! That is brilliant!

Hercules is horrible but Chocobo racing isnt? Odd logic there.

@Cleric Ok. Perhaps that is my own skewed opinion. It did not review well, but I know I personally enjoyed the crap out of that game. It was pure fan service. Chocobo, Mog, Black Mage, White Mage, Chubby Chocobo, Behemoth and Cloud and Squall. And its been on the JP PSN store for ages. Same as Intelligent Qube, Jade Cocoon, and Xenogears.

The Spyro, Tomb Raider, Jet Moto, Twisted Metal and Crash Bandicoot games are all on the US PSN store along with Metal Gear Solid. There are plenty of "good" PSOne games to buy.

@golfs4panzys Agreed. There are some solid titles on the US store already. But when you compare the rate of good games to crap games that are released on the US store its just upsetting. The JP store is proof that these games can be uploaded to the PS store to be bought and played on PS3/PSP. So what is taking so long in getting them over here? I would rather they focus their efforts on getting 1 - 2 solid titles each month then a slow drip of junk that just bloats the line up and dropping one Final Fantasy game every 6 months.

Hercules is awesome. I personally think that all the good games are already on the store, the main FF games, MGS, Spyro, Abe's Oddysey, Crash. The only game I think that needs to be on there is Chrono Cross. But if you really want those then just go down to your local games store and buy them for $7, or try Amazon. Stop bitching, there is tons of good PSOne games on there.

@TraceurRyuk Prepping for LBP2 Is it wrong to expect the same level of quality when it comes to what is released as a PSone classics on the JP store as the US store? If these games did not exist in any digital form I would 100% understand. I would accept it just cant be done. But they exist on the JP store so it can be done. Personally I have been ready to give Sony my $10 for a digital copy of Xenogears that I can play on PSP for well over 2 years. Sadly this is not a product Amazon or my local game store can provide. :)

So the benefit of PS+ is to give hardcore gamers discounts on old PSN games...the ones hardcore gamers probably bought when they were released?

@mywhitenoise

I agree, it's not a strong value at all. The only think about PSN+ I actually want is that auto update feature. And since most updating electronics I own do that for free, I just can't shell out cash for that... it just doesn't feel like a legit way to offer this function. Sony wants its PS3s out there to be updated, and has code available that does it... their cost for having everyone get these updates is actually negative, because updates can be scheduled for minimal server load times.

anyway, to your point, I own almost all the free PSN+ stuff, aside from avatars of fat princess and junk of that nature. Sony should be wary of making the pricing too difficult to follow. Discounts are great, sales are great, but a two tiered system makes it difficult to gauge the value of various products. I hope Sony just gives up this PSN+ or changes the concept somewhat.

Perhaps a 'try before you buy' 14 day download of any PSN gaming content and a couple of video downloads, plus Qore? I dunno.

PS+ would be good if you could get free new games, or decent reductions on games when they come out, but I've bought the PSN games I've wanted as they come out, so I don't need free games after a week or so. It's good for building your library if you've just gotten into it, but not so useful for people who have been playing for a while.

I have to agree with this... I think this is great for people who haven't purchased PSN content, but for those who have purchased most of his stuff already... It seems like overkill.

The Skate 3 DLC is free for those who bought the game and used the in-box code.

Downloading it right now for free. Good stuff. It's also like that on the 360.

DLC isn't that bad. Good mix of small, realistic stuff and Hawkish like stuff. Good open room for setting up your own little areas and the Skate 2 DIY park is a nice touch as well.

I NEED HELP!!!
When I installed a new hdd in my ps3 (old one took a dump) it asks for "storage media with update 3.41 or later." No problem I say to myself, as I download the update on my pc and put it on my usb stick, (folders are PS3/UPDATE) then plug it into the ps3 and hit start and select and wait, just to discover the ps3 says there is nothing on the usb stick with an update. I am at a loss of what to do, I have tried everything my little mind can think of, maybe the geniuses at Joystiq can help me.
PLEASE HELP ME OH WISE ONES!!!

Is your USB key formatted correctly? The PS3 can't recognise anything formatted in NTFS... so it would appear to have nothing it.

From what I read the PS+ content is linked to your account. For example I've been a member since day one so as long as I keep my sub I'll accumulate more content over time... However if you sign up in six months you will only have access to PS+ content from that point on so.... No wipeout HD would not be free for you. This system makes the most sense cause it gives people an incentive to be a subscriber for longer periods otherwise you'ld just get people waiting to sign up then doing it for a month or two then waiting again

@Victoryismine52

But what sane PS3 owner doesn't already own Wipeout HD? It's always been a ridiculously good bargain. They should offer something other than stuff everyone's already bought... but I guess the bean counters picked the stuff they weren't going to sell much more of for this exact reason.

Sony is doing well financially in tough times. I don't begrudge them their profitable PSN+ idea. But it's not a good value for me right now. Hope that could be changed.

@JasonA I'm sure if it was a disc based demo, the PS3 would have learned to eject it's own discs.. at force.. baffled how it has 4 stars on the PSN rating system
