Source: Kmart selling Wii for $180 this week

A trusted tipster sent us this image, which appears to reveal that Kmart is knocking $20 off the usual $200 price of the Wii this week. According to the fine print in the image (full size), the deal runs from today through August 2.

At the time of this writing, both the white and black Wii bundles on Kmart's website were still listed at $200, so it's unclear if this is an in-store only promotion (or if it simply doesn't exist at all). Kmart would not confirm to Joystiq whether or not the deal is available, but it should be noted that our tipster has always been right on the money.

Let us know if you spot the deal at your local Kmart.

Where did all these Kmart deals come from? I haven't seen a Kmart in my area for years after the bankruptcy and Sears buyout.

i used to work there and i said i would never go back in that god forsaken place but these sales they are having have had me in there quite a few times over the last month or so. i can't explain where these deals are coming from but they have certainly gotten my attention.

oh and the best part is that, at least at my Kmart, they never advertise the sales. so there is always plenty left of whatever i go in there for.

I think Kmart is just getting with the times. The had high prices for awhile but this year they have had alot of good deals but the sad part is alot of them arent in the ad :(

@Master X Some of the games are still high priced but all these great deals now makes visiting there very worth it. Just bought SC2 for my father and got a 20 dollar coupon for my next game

Kmart getting with the times? Have you been in a Kmart? The stores haven't changed since the 70's. Everyone I have been in, regardless of what part of the country, are all dumps.

Actually, many jokes are based on truth.

Perhaps they are going with the KB Toys business plan and have "Going out of business sales" for like 2 solid years and never actually go out of business.

No joke, I thought every K-Mart got closed down. I remember about 5 or 6 years ago they closed almost every K-Mart in my city. I really haven't seen one in years.

It's still a big chain of stores in Australia. Rivalling Big W (which is the US Wall-mart i believe).

Did anyone notice it has a date on there of 8/2? Or possibly a date, but wouldn't that make sense? That date is in like a week!

A good opportunity, as i doubt Nintendo's going to push it any further until the successor arrives (and then you might as well just by that, as it will doubtlessly have backwards compatibility)

That sale is actually only on the old wiis(the ones without sports resort and motion plus) still left in stock. It was on sale the week before last too.

Screw Kmart. At all my local Kmarts, whatever they put on sale, they conveniently don't have any in stock, even if I arrive when the store first opens. Games, housewares, furniture, anything!

I'm nearly certain they were sued for this practice on one occasion, but I can't find a reference.

At that price, there really is no reason not to have a Wii.

Sooo many good games on the system that people unfortunately look over.

I work in the electronics department of my kmart. It was NOT in the ad starting this past Sunday. It was on sale for that price a couple weeks back though. We dont usually have sales start mid week.

Pro Tip: $179.99 sounds better than $180, Joystiq.

Updated: This is only for the White Wiis (not the bundles) BUT Im sure if the tag is there you could get a bundle since it doesnt say anything.
