That's quite a bit of load time for such a small game...

Maybe it has like 50 levels or something?

That's because it's done in-engine.

This isn't a seperate app, you could remake this with the SC2 level editor.

@Wulf

LBP renders its levels with an in-game engine, and it doesn't take this long to load levels...

LBP doesn't have half the textures this game does. To run it on full you need a 1GB video card.

Actually, I'm sure it has its fair share. It is on a bluray disc. And they're not using all their textures for that one little game...

You would be suprised at the level of detail in the game. Zoom in on the units and you can see all kinds of detail. That minigame uses the full models from a fixed position.

@Drakkenfyre

LOL, that's a total waste of resources for a mini-game.

You're telling me they make a top-down shooter with textures that no one will be able to zoom in and see WHILE playing the actual mini-game?!?

Does that sound far-fetched to you?

Can't we just agree that they both have great editors?

@Wiizer

As opposed to what? Make custom textures for a game meant to showoff the editor?

You are also not getting that this is not a console game. The loading time is the loading time for that person's pc. It can be faster. I can tell you in the beta I waited for people with slower systems to load.

Wow, that's an ordinary as heck game. Not worth the joystiq hype.

However it is kinda funny the best shooter on the Mac might be one in a bonus game!

It's funny how this is all over the news, but it's been known about for the past two BlizzCon's.

I'm probably getting this game, but I want second opinions. Anyone play it yet, do they like it?

@S0lid Sn4ke

The pile of ruined pants in my room may give you a good answer.

If you want a better one, it's very good in both single player and multiplayer, but you definitely want it for both. The single-player is also decently lengthy, unless you somehow beat each mission in just a couple minutes and skip all the dialog and cutscenes. Tons of achievements too, if you care. Custom maps galore already, which is what Lost Vikings actually is. Great sounds, graphics.

It's a good game. Unless you like overly complex RTS games, that is.

When I first glanced over the main page the words "lost viking" caught my eye and I hoped for a brief moment this could be a HD remake of some sorts of "The Lost Vikings"...

Man I loved that game.

I actually really enjoyed the mini-game. It's better then most of the SHMUPS that are on Arcade or in the PSN store. Really fun.

For as much attention to detail Blizzard puts into their lore, you'd think someone would realize you wouldn't need a 6-button setup for this game.

;)

God, why don't they make games like Lost Vikings anymore?! The class-based puzzle platformers were a blast! Would be great with 4 player online Co-op!

C'mon devs! Let's do it!
