Tales of Graces coming to PS3, new Tales game revealed
41
Tales of Graces and a new, currently unnamed Tales of title are on the way to PlayStation 3, according to info leaked from Japanese mag Jump (translated by Andriasang). Tales of Graces F will be the second entry in Namco Bandai's popular RPG series to ditch platform exclusivity before undergoing enhancement for PS3. The formerly Wii-exclusive title will get a facelift and some added features before it debuts in Japan this winter (possibly to the sound of snapping game discs).
Namco has also revealed plans to release Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 on PSP sometime in 2011. We'll let you know as soon as the publisher shares its plans for North America and Europe.
Update: Namco currently has no plans to release "Tales of Graces (PS3)" in North America.

I have *never* gotten why Japan is so insistent on not releasing good games abroad.
....and they WONDER why they are doing so badly vs. western games now, its kinda their own d@mn fault...this is yet another reason why.

I was very pessimistic about them. Coming from the Final Fantasy games, I thought they would be total rip-offs, but they're actually very entertaining.
The battle system is probably one of the best in an RPG. Active fighting, moving around the arena, and you can have a second player control one of the characters.

I've given up all hope that Bamco is going to get some business sense and do what Atlus does with its releases in the US: Take preorders, then make enough copies to fill them, and a few extra. That would work for Vesperia PS3, I can assure you*

It's pretty much impossible for me to care about any Tales-related announcement when Namco Bandai seems to have more or less given up on localizing any games in this series whatsoever.

Xbox 360 users get screwed by Namco again... and NA gets screwed in general. Why Namco? Why?

What I'm trying to say is ToV was released on 360 which was good. Then they made a more complete version for PS3. That's how 360 users got screwed. But since they didn't bring it to NA, that's how USA gets screwed. But since the only ToV in America is the 360 one, 360 users rejoice (myself included). As for this Graces game, 360 doesn't even get a version and it's probably unlikely to be released here so we all get screwed again.
Something like that.

In regards to tales of vesperia for ps3, what's the chances that it's a 2 year exclusivity contract holding them back? I believe I heard about one somewhere, and such a contract would end in august right? They had troy baker doing more voice work, maybe they are preparing for contract to end?

@Chibilaharl That explanation may have worked to explain the lack of plans for a localization of Vesperia PS3, but now that they have announced that Graces is japan only, it pretty much confirms that they are not under any sort of restriction to localize it, they just aren't going to.

OK Namco, here's the deal. In my left hand I hold a heavy wooden mallet. In my right hand I hold a cheagle. Let's say I took that mallet and smashed it against the cheagle's head. What would happen? That's right, minced cheagle.
Here's what's going to happen. You're going to release more Tales games in NA, and I'll let the cheagle go free. If you don't localize more Tales games, the cheagle gets it. Think of the cheagle, Namco.

Does joystiq ever respond with the question " is there a specific reason you aren't releasing it?

I'd actually rather they talk about it because it shows a desire for the game to release here in North America, which could possibly push Namco into releasing it here.
I mean, it's a slim chance and it's very hopeful, but I think it could happen.

@koehler83 By your logic, every game ever made would be available worldwide, but that isn't the case. There's licensing, there's localization costs, there's an approval process through SCEA, production and distribution..
