How can there be such a huge list and yet it only has 5-6 songs I would care about?

@Gib

Really? I'm not a Guitar Hero fan either, but I have to give them credit for the great track list they have going. There's a lot more than 5 or 6 songs I'm excited to play.

@Gib I'm no fan of GH, but there's more than 5 songs. However a lot of them will be in RB3, or are already in previous RB games/DLC...

* Alice Cooper -- "No More Mr. Nice Guy"
* Black Sabbath -- "Children of the Grave"
* Blue Oyster Cult -- "Burnin' For You"
* Bush -- "Machinehead"
* Deep Purple -- "Burn"
* Dire Straits -- "Money For Nothing"
* Foreigner -- "Feels Like the First Time"
* Jethro Tull -- "Aqualung"
* Nine Inch Nails -- "Wish"
* Queen -- "Bohemian Rhapsody"
* Rush -- "2112"
* Stone Temple Pilots -- "Interstate Love Song"
* Styx -- "Renegade"
* The Cure -- "Fascination Street"
* The Rolling Stones -- "Stray Cat Blues"
* The White Stripes -- "Seven Nation Army"
* Them Crooked Vultures -- "Scumbag Blues"

@Ranus Studios You obviously don't listen to rock music, and therefore this version of Guitar Hero isn't aimed at you.

@Yousty

Can't say I disagree. It's just a little jarring for me personally because I followed GH like a fiend through GH3 and was always excited by the set list. At first the thought crossed my mind that they were running out of good songs, but then I thought about it and realized that maybe this one is aimed at full-on fans of the bands listed. I'd bet that I'd like a lot of these songs if I actually threw down for the game.

@Ranus Studios Cultured? It's mostly mainstream rock and classic rock throwbacks. Far from what I would considered "cultured" in the first place.
Is "pop-cultured" a term?

@Dustbink popular culture is an oxymoron. Culture is generally something enduring, not something that changes at a moment's notice. But I like the setlist so far.

@Ranus Studios I felt that way about some of the music on Guitar Hero 5. I hadn't heard of quite a bit of it but there were some real gems in there. But it did too much much to try to appeal to the current mainstream sensibilities, and the set list suffered tremendously because of it. There wasn't enough going on to make me say I HAVE TO PLAY THIS. Interest in the title fell off after the first play through.

@sorryfsu And because you need a keyboard to play quite a few of The Doors songs. I mean really, can you play "Light My Fire" w/o a keyboard? Imagine that song without it's signature keyboard riff. It wouldn't be the same at all. I bet you'll see quite a few The Doors songs in RB3 now.

I'm pumped to scream out "FLOOOOOOOR!" during Bodies, haha.

Sure I did, and then they had to go and get Soil's old singer for their new albums. DP became a lot worse and Soil became a lot better after that.

Well majority of the bands on the list are metal bands. Soo I don't care what the game is called. These are some terrible metal songs. The actual talented bands on their have way better songs to use. So f this game!

Have to admit this doesn't really grab me. A lot of left-field choices of songs and a lot of the ones that look like they would be fun are already on Rock Band. Other things like it being warriors of rock and having an ott metal storyline and then stuffing fall out boy and mcr seems like a strange choice. I like both those groups but surely sticking to the same style as the storyline would have been a better idea. The series needs to focus on just guitars and be the best guitar game there is and focus on songs that are cool to play on guitar. They won't of course, they want to appeal to as many people as possible and generally end up satisfying none. Shame since GH2 and to some extent GH3 were brilliant.

To bad activision sucks at changing things up with their franchises. Lets take a look at another series that hasnt changed for the good. Tony hawk pro skater. So if we look at Guitar Hero Vs Rock Band, its like Tony Hawk Vs Skate, skate learns from their mistakes, and tony keeps hoping for ignorance. Rock band fixes its issues are creates new greatness. Guitar hero gives us humans mixed with animal. Not sure its the best business move. Oh yeah and I counted 6 songs that are on here and I would like to play.. but I will wait for the Rockband version.
