Tom Petty approves of this message. Is this game any good? I'd like to try it now that I have a PC that can play more than Torchlight and WoW, but I don't want to have to play another mediocre WoW clone if I can avoid it. Any thoughts?

Dude that sounds just like WOW. BTW you can't take on multiple mobs that are the same level as you anyway.

All MMO are GRINDS. Kill 50 animals. Gather these items.

It's just like WoW the same way Starcraft 2 is just like Command & Conquer 3 or Torchlight is just like Diablo 2

An MMO that isn't WoW.
Recipe for failure.

I dunno... KoToR is starting to sound pretty sweet.

And provided they kill out the grinding in FFXIV and not make everything tedious...that could blow up big too (especially considering it will be available to consoles...something WoW isn't......which for the life of me I'll never understand why.

I remember them saying that about Aion.
And Tabula Rasa.
And Age of Conan.

All of them turned out to be utter failures. WoW's time jsut isn't up yet.

@Esposch I still have hope. However little it may be.

Would really like to play the beta or trial though.

@Esposch

I agree with you there...WoW is a monster.

But I *really* want KoToR to be good....like Beta SWG good. And I also want them to finally do an online Final Fantasy that doesn't involve a raid group just to walk across the landscape or 300 hours and 10000+ lost exp just to make it to a specialized class...(long winded version of "Please don't suck".)

One out of the two has to be a winner........right?

The FF14 devs are kind of listening to their fans, but not really

They're the only game in town in Japan, so they're suffering from Roman Empire syndrome.

I actually just started playing Aion, picked it up at the huge Gamestop sale for 20 bucks. I'm having a lot of fun with it. As for it being a 'WoW' clone. All MMO's follow the same formula. But the game is enjoyable.

If they want people to play Aion on a regular basis the most important thing to do would be to not make this game cost as much as WoW to play.

Seriously, you don't go against the leader in the industry by trying to match its price before people believe that you match its quality. Not saying Aion is a bad game, just saying a lower price would probably help get more customers.

I've quit after 6 months of playing. I just realized I love console gaming more than MMOs.

This is a Korean MMO. That means:

- All characters look feminine
- LOTS of grinding
- MORE grinding
- GRINDING..........

The first 10 lvls are fun, then it turns into an all out GRIND to the finish.

I can't imagine a worse way to spend my time than cruddy MMO grinding. There are WAY to many good games out there.
