The PlayStation Move is set to launch in the US on September 19 alongside several bundles. The Starter Pack -- a $99 bundle including one PlayStation Move controller, a PlayStation Eye camera and a copy of Sports Champions -- is apparently going to be a bit different when it launches in the UK on September 15. MCV reports that the UK Starter Pack won't include a full copy of Sports Champions, instead giving gamers a taste of nine different titles.
The nine demos included in the package include snippets of six retail Move titles: Sports Champions, Start the Party, The Shoot, EyePet: Move Edition, TV Superstars and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. The remaining three demos will be for PSN games: Echochrome 2, Tumble and Beat Sketchers. In the UK, the Starter Pack will have a suggested retail value of £49.99.

Oh wait, pound to dollar ratio makes this a saving on the Eye + Move of $5.
I jumped the gun a little on that one.

The difference in RRP (recommended retail price) is actually $22.04. Judging from the price at GameStop ($99.99) the actual difference if you were to buy from ShopTo in the United Kingdom is $33.19. That's pretty substantial.

Anima, In the UK you don't get the full game, you get demos. That's why I just calculated it as the combined price of the Move wand and PSEye.

Current conversion rates would make 50 British pounds = 77.95 U.S. dollars. It's noticeably cheaper.

She's one of the most annoying women ever portrayed in a game. Of course, this is mainly in MGS2, when Raiden is fighting for his life amid calls of 'do you remember what we did on April 14th? Why don't we talk about our relationship?'
Granted... not entirely unrealistic, but ,,,, ugh

Good for the UK. I think what if Sony wants to get into the casual market they need to take a page out of Microsoft's book and sell a no harddrive Sku for the PS3 priced at $299. From a consumer standpoint, if I was interested in this motion control gaming "revolution" and didn't have a 360/PS3 I would probably get the 360 Kinect bundle because it would be $100 cheaper if the rumors that the move bundle being $399 are true.

A no hard drive console is a horrible console that is far less profitable. MS can pretend they had a brilliant business plan because they could face huge, huge loses for a million years, but sony can't take a risk like that.
And a hard drive isn't expensive. More than paid for when you consider people can buy things online and many PS3 games require an HDD install.
No, Sony was wise to copy MS's older playbook in always having a hard drive.

@Grey You would be ultimately conning yourself..
What you dont understand is that all ps3 skus have shipped with a hdd this in turn guarantees to developers that there will always be a hdd for the user and means that they can use the hdd to boost and speed up read operations. This is a given on all ps3s, regardless, the developers are always given the hdd as a fall back and all users will always have the ability to have whatever storage they want.
With the 4GB Xbobx 360 bundle, while it would be possible to play most games, within a short period of time I guarantee that you would be forced to buy a drive and the drives would retail around $100 which would mean that in total you would end up spending the $400 anyway..
By all means feel free to do whatever you want to do.. Makes no difference to me, I know Sony would never offer a driver-less version of the ps3 and for that I am really glad and I am also glad that I can change the drive to whatever I want.

As I've explained above, the deal is actually better in the UK. You've also got to remember that the price in the article is the RRP (Recommended Retail Price). It's actually selling for £42.85 ($66.80).

Well, if you were intending to buy Sports Champions then it works out at the same price. We just get a load of demos on top of that. I guess it comes down to whether or not you wanted Sports Champions.

I was talking about the game bundled with it, a bunch of demos, while neat, seems to be a lesser value...especially with how fun Sports Champions is

Sports Champions is only $38.74 in the UK. You could buy the Starter Kit and Sports Champions and it'd come to the same price as the US Starter Kit.

well what with the price brakedowns provided (thanks all!) it seems the UK wins by mere fact of greater choice in the matter. dont want sports champions? don't get it.
but i don't care, i want sports champions and am going to get the $99 bundle in the US regardless. would be nice if others in the US had the option of getting a bundle without it if they aren't interested though.

I already have the Eye. Just gonna get the Move. maybe 2 of them. Wish Sony would include a demo disc with the purchase of a move controller (US). Or atleast have a form you can fill out to have one sent to you.
