@Faenix

Because it's awesome!

Seriously, it's probably hard to understand how amazing Dragon's Lair was when it was first introduced to arcades. I remember with amazing clarity the day the wheeled one into my uncle's shop and how mindblowing it was.

I think it's mostly a nostalgia thing, but the actual animations are entertaining too.

Well, I never played Dragon's Lair and want to. I was considering getting DL for the DSWare once I get a 3DS, but now I can get this instead with DL2 and Space Ace.

Definitely going to buy this! I recently downloaded and played Dragon's Lair and Space Ace on my iPhone and am now longing for Dragon's Lair 2 since I played the butchered version on the Amiga so long ago.

I got 2 Space Aces when I received my launch day PS2 from EBGames. One is still in its packaging.

I'd love to see this collection come to the 360 or PS3. I never got around to playing either Space Ace or Dragon's Lair 2.

How long are these games? I thought they only had like 30 mins of gameplay.

@gangcar I played Space Ace for the first time a few weeks ago. It took me a few hours to actually complete it, but once you know everything, I'd say it's only about 10 minutes for each game.

Think I'll wait for it to hit the $9 mark and enjoy these games in "watch mode"

Honestly I only wasted 50c on dragons lair in the arcade and decided then and there it was the worst game ever. Sure it looked great but its little more than one giant quicktime event, before quicktime events were quicktime events.

@Scuffles
Or perhaps a choose-your-own-adventure book would be a better comparison.

Some people get into it, some people don't.
Those who don't usually prefer to skip the pages all the way to the endings... which gets rid of the entire point of the books.

From what I remember of this game it consisted of making the right choice at the right time over and over again. Knowing that (and my not so good dexterity for those sorts of games), I gave this a pass.

For the time, the graphics were great - better than anything else out there. I remember a lot of gaming articles talking about how good it looked. They didn't say much about the gameplay, but it definitely looked good. :)

I had Space Ace way back in the day, but I sucked at it. It was insanely hard, and you had to watch the same scenes over and over again before you got it right.

Still, as a fan of animation, I may get this.

I wish the step to the garbage would be close. This game is just ugly, even if its a kind of classic.

This game is an example of what NOT to include in a video game.

So has anyone here actually played Dragon's Lair or just seen the AVGN review of the NES version?

@wcarnation Sure have! It sucked in 1983, it sucks on the iPhone nearly thirty years later, it sucks everywhere. And I don't watch ANN, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

(Yes, he calls himself the Angry Video Game Nerd now. But ANN is more degrading.)

I dont remember when this game came out exactly. I think I was jamming on it around 84 at the local comic store up the street,

Being a teen, living at home, and having a paper route meant I had plenty of quarters to pump into it. It took a long time to memorize all the patterns.

I was the first one there to beat the game, and it seems like the store owner gave me like a $10 comic for doing so. The interest he garnered from folks watching was well worth it.

I bought the PC collection from yrs ago, but it didnt seem to run right(like benny hill). Would luv to see these titles thrown together for $30 on 360 as well.
