This is so awesome of them. PAX Prime has been so far treated as the baby conference, to satisfy the fanboys with unreleased games. Even PAX East got more marketing attention. I think this is the beginning of PAX becoming a much more serious event publishers and developers focus on more intensely, which is great for me, Mr. Attendee.

The line is going to be a motherfucker, though.

The pessimist in me says that it will be something already announced, but not much known about: Resistance 3.

@Shadowbender

Insomniac doesn't have anything announced other than a few unnamed games.

Going by their track record of Resistance(2006) then Ratchet and Clank(2007) then Resistance(2008) then Ratchet and Clank(2009), it would probably be Resistance(2010).

It'll be Resistance 3 or another new IP. But my guess is 75 percent Resistance 2, 25 percent New IP.

Is there a reason it couldn't be a new Ratchet title? No one has even mentioned it so far.

I swear if it's another R&C game I will throw my cat through the wall. But seriously, I am so tired of Ratchet. They need to give that series a rest. It's gotten really samey.

Please Insomniac say something if it is Resistance 3 around the lines of "We have taken the die hard RFOM fans gripes with R2 into consideration"

Come on Resistance 3! Also, please add in some campaign co-op, as well as the awesome missions like R2 had!

I just hope it's good! The last few games haven't done much for me. Ratchet's gotten so easy it isn't even fun, and R2 took the budding franchise from awesome to Halo-clone. Not what I wanted.

@Jacksons

gotta agree with you. i love the R&C franchise but Quest for Booty wasn't very good (only played it once) and a Crack In Time wasn't very difficult at all, even though i did still play it alot anyway. and i was really disappointed with Resistance 2 after how good Resistance 1 was. i'm hoping Resistance 3 takes the good from 1 & 2.

I recall reading recently that Ratchet & Clank was being given a rest for a while. The last game was created to be an open ended series finale for the franchise. I know a R&C comic book is coming out that takes place after the last game, but I'd be surprised if we see a new game anytime soon.

Personally, that's fine with me, since I thought the games were getting kind of repetitive. They were still great, but I think now is a good time to give the series a rest.
