Medal of Honor LE tied up with Battlefield 3 beta invite
46
EA announced today that, in addition to some generally underwhelming digital goodies like early access to shotguns, the Medal of Honor Limited Edition will come with an invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta, being developed by MoH's multiplayer team at DICE. As for when to expect that beta to begin, an EA representative tells Joystiq that the company has "no further details" and that it'll start "within 12 month of Medal of Honor's release."

If they want it to be a marketing tool they should call it a preview or an early demo. I would be fine with it if they did, but they don't do they? They call it a public beta (this goes for almost everyone in the business by the way.) Blizzard is the only company to recently take a beta test very seriously and improve the game dramatically in doing so. We rarely see anything get fixed that has to do with the core game as a result of a public beta anymore. That is why it's a big deal. It's just the companies throwing us a bone. You should feel bad for supporting their antics.

So, you buy Battlefield Bad Company 2, and then you get a Beta invite to Medal of Honor, which then gives you another Beta invite to the NEXT Battlefield game, which then gives you a Beta entry to the NEXT Medal of Honor game which by that time is around 2012 when the world is ending so I guess the message is, don't pre-order Medal of Honor 2, as you will not be receiving anything.

PLEASE DO NOT DOWNGRADE THIS ON PC BECAUSE OF CONSOLE PEASANTS
If BF3 turns out like FEAR 2 did on PC I'm going to be pissed.

@dakoe3 no, bad company was great because it was bad company. it was unique. bad company 2 was trying to be like bf2, even though it wasn't even close. imo they completely ruined the lighthearted atmosphere that bad company had.

Why should it be PC only? I play on consoles and PC, and I would gladly get both versions so I could play with my friends on PC and PS3. I could care less if the console port is downgraded, because I would always know that I would have a good PC version to play.

Exclusives are always of a higher quality than multiplatform games. And Battlefield is really a PC franchise, I really like BC2 I've logged over 100 hours on it in steam but its really nothing like BF2.

Just a scam to increase MOH's sales.
Though I'm really looking forward to BF3. I hope it's just BF2, with destruction and modern graphics. 64 players(32 or 48 on consoles if 64 isnt possible), huge maps, tons of vehicles, bots, low weapon damage, no specializations, no VIP nonsense, server browser on all versions, detailed in-game stats, Spectator mode, etc etc.
The list goes on.

That's what they always say about betas. I have a feeling that there will be beta invites on FilePlanet as well just like they did in the past for 2142, BC2, etc.

Still not worth the $60 (Really EA? Even for the PC version?). The multiplayer feels just like BC2 (hell, they didn't even bother to change the animations!) without the destructible environments. Not to mention the final release will feel like an alpha version compared to the beta that we have now since DICE always manages to screw everything up when it comes to release. To the people that are going to buy it, good luck even logging into the game for the first month as DICE never learns to buy more servers to gear up for launch. (Hey it happened to 1943 and then BC2)

Modern Combat was nothing like BF2. The only thing in common between the two was the "Battlefield 2" part in their name.

Ah good old EA with their paid betas. I don't care about MOH but Battlefield 3 is going to be the SHIT! Give me a PC exclusive with 64 players and infantry combat with proper open maps and a large range of vehicles. Also proper clan support!!!!!

No more of this watered down Bad Company stuff, let's have the classic, original, HUGE scale Battlefield back again.
At least 50 players, fixed wing aircraft, bombers, and none of the tiny MW2/ BFBC2 maps. Let's have a map the size of El Alamein again.
Either DICE does something like that, or they keep trying to rip off COD4.

I love how all the PC fans are hoping and praying that Battlefield 3 stays on PC. Newsflash, theres way more money to be made on consoles than there is on PC, and we all know that EA goes where the money goes. They don't care if they tarnish your PC legacy, they are a BUSINESS, businesses want to make MONEY.

I'm a console gamer first and PC gamer second but I am extremely disappointed by BF3 being on console. The game isn't structured to be on console, thats what Bad Company is supposed to be for. So in order for it to be on console, it is going to get watered down which is tragic.
Hopefully DICE proves me wrong...

But they won't. EA knows it's slot of money to be made on consoles there for it's going to be on PC and consoles. Just going to be watered down on 360/PS3 but it wont make a huge difference. Crysis 2 looks good on consoles alot better then I thought so BF3 will be the same way. My question is the GFX card to run this game is gonna be crazy just like BF2 lol. Can't wait for this game. Loved BF2 on PC hated all the rest after that BF:BC/2 wasn't that much fun for me. The classic action is back and I'm so glad about that.
