That's 700,00 homes too many for Alpha Protocol.

Any sensible person would rather have a real assassin in their house trying to kill them than the pathetic game that is Alpha Protocol.

Let's just hope that Obsidian can make a good game with New Vegas. They clearly can't make their own IPs, no matter how much time or hype they're given.

Well, they would've sold more if they got an even higher score. I saw 2 or 3 different video reviews, and all of them said the same thing - horrible game. Now do you see why games like Gears of War, Halo, God of War, Killzone, Little Big Planet sell 5 or 10 million easy when EVERYONE says it's a good game?

@mikeymilkshake So, Hannah Montana and Britney Spears are actually good performers? Because last I checked, they sold millions as well.

Reviews don't matter when it's riding on the hype and success of the movie.

Iron Man 2 really sold 1.12 million copies? Seriously? Moms need to stop buying these licensed games for their kids and ruining their childhood. :(

Well, it's easier for them to get the game for their kid to shut up than to actually step in and be a parent.

@Grey - I'm sure we bought every licensed piece of garbage that came along when we were kids as well. Superman 64 is the one that sticks out in my mind, but I also bought a boatload of power rangers, teenage mutant ninja turtles, and other games based on assorted kids properties. Some of them were good but most of them were crap.

Things haven't changed; The market has just expanded to more gullible kids.

Actually, thankfully my older cousins would let me play the games that they bought like Street Fighter II, Sonic, Streets of Rage, etc. so I didn't grow up with shitty games. Although I do fondly remember a Power Ranger game that I thoroughly enjoyed....*shrugs*

What? The Power Rangers game? Nope. All of the games I listed were for the Genesis. Didn't buy the game gear. Didn't even know it existed until a few years back....

Correction: Upon playing them as an adult, I've now realized those games were crap. Freaking loved them when I was a kid. They absolutely do not hold up.

You should not focus your anger on the average movie cash-in, but rather something like Wii Play selling 66 million.

I bet you their sales would be a lot better if stop churning out terrible games like those above and slow the shit down on the sonic games.

It's a real shame that Alpha Protocol didn't sell better, that game lacked polish but was mechanically a fantastic game =[

@Protome yeah hearing people rub it in about that game really hurts. I was so hooked on it. I guess everyone expects that any character that pulls out a gun in third person view needs to follow the exact accuracy of the player especially when there are quotes out there like "missing because of numbers is never fun." That kind of thinking also condemns the essential game mechanic of most jrpgs and many other rpgs. What gives? You miss? Level up.

There is only one way to celebrate this SEGA...

I demand Valkyria Chronicles 3 for PS3 in the not to distant future. :|

@Cleric I was wondering the the same thing. I hope it did well since I'm a huge fan of the series. It must've done something since Sega wasted no time in announcing their plans to localize Yakuza 4. Hopefully it won't be too long before they also announce that PSP Yakuza game.

I think SEGA would be more than happy to take Nintendo's 'down' figures over their 'up' numbers.

Haters will just keep hating but I loved Alpha Protocol. Played through it twice (in fact, I paused my 2nd ME2 playthrough to play AP) and would play again if I didn't still have tons of other great games to get through.

@2late2die I've already played through it 3 times myself. I bought a few new games recently but I'll eventually go for another playthrough or two, to finish up all the achievements. Very fun game.
