- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): It's Elemental, dear Watson. Think I'm close to finishing off Red Dead Redemption.
- Andrew Yoon (@scxzor): Once again, another weekend of not playing video games. Who needs them?
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): Unlike Griffin, I won't be enjoying Fun. until October, but I will be trying to have regular ol' fun (non-musical fun, if you will) by finishing Crackdown 2 (at this point I may as well) and getting some more time in with the "new" Battlefield: Bad Company 2 maps.
- Chris Buffa (@ChrisBuffa): If I have time, I'll continue playing Singularity. Otherwise, I will enjoy that awesome game known as the Joystiq Database. Much will be learned, but no achievements will be unlocked.
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): Having finished the first Alan Wake expansion "The Signal" I went back to the backlog, picking Darksiders. After 10 or so hours in War's world, I've found it to be a totally competent Zelda clone. If I had any complaints beyond the puerile subject matter, it would be that it's not much more than a Zelda clone.
- David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): I'm playing the most exciting game of them all: pack a bunch of boxes and ship them out to San Francisco because oh my god I'm going to live there soon! I've got a +10 to Excitement right now.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): This weekend will be a delightful mix of Dragon Quest IX, GTA: Episodes from Liberty City and Fun. That is to say, the band Fun. But I imagine the first two things will be remarkably Fun in their own respects.
- James Ransom-Wiley: I'm at the final stage in the Madison, WI adventure game, and it looks like I'm gonna get the cheesy ending.
- JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): Dragon Quest IX continues indefinitely! Also, I'm going to check out Dive: The Medes Island Secret. I really want to know what that secret is!
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): I'm gonna do my best to finish up Deathspank. Also, lots more Clash of the Titans. No, no, I'm shitting you.
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): Does this have to be a game? I was actually planning on watching every single Pink Panther cartoon this weekend.
- Mike Schramm (@MikeSchramm): After a few weeks of trying to put down FFXIII, I've only just made a dent in it, so I think it's time to take a trip to my local House of Video Game Retail and get something new. It would be StarCraft 2, except the PC's on the fritz at the moment.
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin) I hope to get in a least a little bit of the following: Fastar!, Helsing's Fire and Gravity Hook (they're all for iPhone, and you should play them). I plan to get in a lot of the following: Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM) I'm in Memphis on a mini-vacay, so I'll be playing "eat the ribs." If I have time, I also carted along Bowser's Inside Story, SingStar, Wii Sports Resort, Demon's Souls and StarCraft 1.

How do you turn a hot dog into a chili dog? Open a bag of ice on the floor! It's been pretty hot lately (northern hemisphere bias!), but thankfully we haven't noticed it with the embarrassment of riches that's been the summer release schedule. Check out our reviews section if you're looking for the latest. What's everyone playing this weekend?

I bought Starcraft II...but lo and behold I am playing the first Starcraft (and expansion) for the first time ever. Apparently the story is a continuation...so its good to know the backstory. Plus I'm having fun. It totally holds up today, except the graphics part...in which I plan to totally be blown away when I get to Starcraft II :-)

It was an absolute mob scene. Bill had lunch at Gigi's on Friday, and there were approximately 300 people crowded about the outside of the restaurant. Blockades, increased police presence, and bat-shit crazy paparazzi chasing cars down the street made for an interesting weekend.

While I'm stuck in a hotel in Fairbanks, AK my gaming will be of the portable variety. DQIX and Picross 3-D for me. You know, you can buy other games for your DS but you really don't need to. Ever.

Correction: You absolutely need to buy Meteos and Tetris DS, in addition to DQIX and Picross 3D.
It's actually illegal in all 192 UN member states to not own either Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver whilst also owning a Nintendo DS.
Also *still* playing DQIX btw, GOTY thus far.

yeah, i'm of the opinion that between platinum and soul silver, i don't need anymore DS games.
not to say that i don't want more. i just end up spending available money on PS3 games instead. my PSP has seen similar amounts of neglect, but i managed to get tons of games for it before the PS3 came into the house...

Finishing Wario Land: Shake It! this weekend and playing through Limbo.
An interesting dichotomy I'd say. DeathSpank on PSN may be with that too.
I may try to get Starcraft II and Blazblue: Continuum Shift this weekend and buy Batman: Under The Red Hood, but something called time is preventing me. Money too.

I'm still playing Final Fantasy XIII and hoping that at some point it'll end and I can forget about it. Also, I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ninety Nine Nights, and Persona 3 Portable. I was afraid that when the game made the transition to the PSP that it would lose some stuff, but, even though it did the stuff they did remove was negligible. Out of all those games I'm currently playing, P3P is the best of the batch. It's crazy that I'm enjoying a slightly stripped down port of a console game way more than a full-on, big budgeted console release.

Just platinumed Dirt 2 so I can stop with that one now.
Other than that, it'll be a LONG week of Starcraft 2, TF2 and F.E.A.R. 2. And maybe I'll try and platinum the Nolan North Prince of Persia while I'm at it.

Dish always gives rock-bottom prices compared to any comparable service out there, but DirecTV can give you service near the level of Digital Cable (losing out only in On-Demand content and signal reliability to a certain degree)
I'd only go for digital cable if you have money to burn, and if you have that kind of money (and are blessed to live in one of the sainted markets), you can get FiOS (or UVerse), and beat the shit out of all of them and get the best internet possible in the USA.

Huh, my comment was eaten. Anyway, Dish network will always give you rock-bottom prices for anything in that ballpark, the only way to undercut them is to get barebones basic cable (20 channels or so), and then you might as well not get cable. DirecTV is more comparable to digital cable, where the only significant loss is in On-Demand content, and signal reliability to a certain degree (though the level of thunderstorm necessary to stop my DirecTV would have usually interrupted our old analogue Comcast, too). Digital Cable gets you the most, but you'll pay dearly, and if you're paying that much, you might as well jump to FiOS.
Though i'll grant i'm definitely biased against big cable, as i've had nothing but trouble with comcast, but i would say i'd go for digital if you absolutely want the most and don't have FiOS available, otherwise just go for DirecTV
