Japan's latest Club Nintendo prize is absorbent

When you see the stuff Japan's Club Nintendo offers its members, you may be prone to drool a bit. Ironically, Nintendo of Japan's loyalty program has something for that now as well.

For 150 points, Club Nintendo is offering the choice of one of these three 25cm x 25cm "towel handkerchiefs." They're part towel and part handkerchief, but at the same time neither, because none of us would dare dry or clean anything with one of these. Since they're currently only available in Japan, of course, we don't even have the opportunity to decline to mop up a spilled soda with one of these cute collectibles.

Honestly, how hard can it be to simply get some of the Japanese rewards shipped to the U.S. or even manufactured here? Even Europe has had better rewards. I was so excited for Club Nintendo and the only thing that I've bought was the set of Hanafuda cards because my points were going to expire.

You can hold on to your points. The only thing that is affected is your status (Gold and Platinum), which resets after June 30. Your points remain.

I like how Japan gets all the neat stuff, and we get mostly crap. Sure, the Mario hat is great, but nothing else measures up to what Japan gets.

the points expire if it isnt used within 2 years, if i remember correctly.

"Why are my Coins listed with an expiration date?
Unredeemed Coins will expire two (2) full Club Nintendo years (July 1 - June 30), plus whatever is left in the current Club Nintendo year, after they are earned. I'd love to see this disproven, but I'm pretty sure they do, in fact, expire. =/

Everyone I've talked to who did Club Nintendo was pissed as hell about the statue, since the figures on it all look recycled from the Mario figurine line.

Figurine sucks. Not as bad as a few of the other things, but they could have still done much better.

This very useful, I should have lived in Japan!

@MidgardDragon Meh, I thought it was ugly and decided to get the calendar again. Last year I wanted the hat but didn't get platinum, mehhh.
