Walmart doing midnight launches for Madden NFL 11

Just eight more days until Madden NFL 11 hits store shelves. Those of you itching to get a copy as soon as possible will be happy to learn that Walmart's holding midnight launch events for the game, even giving $5 discounts to midnight purchases.

Additionally, select stores will be holding tournaments, handing out product samples (oooh, a travel-size Axe Body Spray!), and a chance to enter a Super Bowl XLV ticket giveaway. So, why not head over to your local Walmart right now and get the tailgating started early, eh?

Played the demo, wasn't bad. I felt like there where some good improvements, but the last Madden I played was '08

Midnight Madden? Really? I know people love Madden games but I can't imagine people staking out for it. Madden is Madden...it'll be there for a whole year until Madden 2012.

Reminds me of the PSP commercial Sony had for the special blue Madden PSP.where the people were in line outside a store.

I tried going out and playing once, but when I ran out on the field security takled me. I tried to tell them that I just wanted to play Qb but they wouldn't listen. Who would have thought the NFL was so strict?

Also, not everyone is "perfectly capable" of playing football in the NFL. In fact, most people aren't.

@Joseph9307 Just go out and play? Well, it's kind of hard for me to find 21 NFL players who are willing to play some football at midnight. Also, I like playing 4-5 games in one sitting, so even if by some miracle I was able to find 21 NFL players to play a game with me, I doubt they would be up for 4-5 games.

Midnight launch at a walmart? Better bring some bear mace, shit is scary.

I thought the Madden demo was great. It really exceeded my expectations. Though, this will be the first year I don't buy a football game day 1. There's too much coming out. I plan on getting Mafia II CE, K&L2, and most likely Metroid to end the month.

The only sports game I plan on getting day 1 is NBA 2K11.

madden midnight launch, lousy wal-mart... couldn't do that for starcraft 2, nooooo.... I had to wait til 10AM and get it at Devilstop.

Anyway, all I'm saying is that everyone is perfectly capable of playing sports. However, not everyone here has some super plasma guns, or a dragon living in his garage, or an incredibly futuristic suit in his closet.
The point is that people should buy games to fulfill a desire--the desire to do something that you know you could never be able to do. Ever. That's what makes games fun.

Depending on how much you play games makes you a fatass. God you are a moron to think just 1 type of game makes you fat. Playing sports games of your fav teams and players is a thrill to many people. See you fail with how you said anyone can play sports. Well yes we can but not everyone in the NFL. Just like your shooters and such have guns that we will never shoot in real life and it's not just your average gun.

No one goes to the Midnight Madden launches, at least here in MI. I was out at a wal-mart by accident the day Madden 10 came out, and there were TWO people together waiting for it. I went to get NHL 10 on launch day, and there were almost 20.

I just don't see the need for a big release launch for sports games.

I never understood the whole midnight launch thing. Seriously, just why?

why bother, just go to any video game store close to a ghetto, and you can get it at least a week earlier.. ; - ]
