Crysis 2 falls to 2011 in EA financial report
22
Crytek's apocalyptic FPS appears to have slipped into next year. Although previously planned as a "holiday" release (Q4 2010), EA's latest financial report places Crysis 2 in the first quarter of 2011 (January–March). Barring any further changes, Crysis 2 joins a rather crowded lineup for early 2011, including EA's own Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Darkspore, Fight Night Champion, and the newly confirmed Need for Speed: Shift 2. It appears next year's first quarter will be just as hectic as this year's was.
EA may offer further insight into the delay during its investor call, happening now. Stay tuned for updates.

Geez, after it finally looked like publishers had learned not to release games in huge clusters in fall, they just release them in huge clusters in winter.

Summer is a "HUGE" slot that they need to release more games in.. There were pretty much no games July-August

@TheDarkWayne - Half of these titles end up being summer titles for me anyway because of the sheer amount of them. Fable III, GT5, Black Ops, Reach... the list just goes on and on. Trying to decide which ones to buy and which ones to rent is going to be tough.

@BananaBoat Yeah, admittedly this is a bit of a relief because I wasn't sure whether or not i was going to buy Crysis 2 considering it'll be less of a graphical powerhouse and there's plenty of other FPS at the same time. But hell, I'm likely to revert back to that opinion when a dozen other games get moved to the same date again

@(Unverified) I'm passing on Reach, but Black Ops, GT5, LB2, Fifa, and Castlevania will have me busy till next year which will be AWESOME. Heck there's Deus Ex, Socom 4, Gears 3, Infamous 2, Dead Space 2, Killzone 3, Twisted Metal, etc...

Publishers need to start releasing games during the slow summer months. Although, it works out well for me, Birthday money in October for the fall/holiday games, Christmas money for the first couple months of the year.

Well someones not updated on this change. Just typed Crysis2 in the browser adressfield and got this result in an otherwise empty window:
"Crysis 2 will be realised in 2010.
You can buy this domain.

Weird that they havent bought the domain yet...
