At long last, Game Freak has discovered exactly why you've been so hesitant to jump on the last few generations of Pokémon titles: It's all those old Pokémon, of course. It's hard to feel like you're on a level playing field when you don't recognize a few of the 'mons introduced in Pearl or Ruby or Silver -- but, according to a blog post from Game Freak's Junichi Masuda, that won't be a problem in Pokémon Black and White.
Going by Andriasang's translation of the blog, players of the upcoming generation of Pokémon titles will only encounter all-new monsters until they clear the game. The developer hopes this will make the game a fresh experience for veterans and newcomers alike -- though Masuda admits that coming up with new monsters has been completely challenging. Well, yeah, we'd assume anything after number 300 would be tough to come up with. Here, we'll try: Stonedog! He's a dog! But he's made of stone.

It's PokemOn. With an O. Pokemans isn't even correct English; it should be Pokemen.

@Wiizer That won't even work this time. No old Pokémons -> can't trade with older games.

@GuitarHero666 Actually since the "mon" in pokemon is short for "monsters" both pokeman and pokemen is incorrect. The singular and plural form of pokemon are one and the same (eg. "Look, there's a pokemon". Or. "Look at all these pokemon".).

Sorry, but I miss my Pikachu and Pichu. Even Totodile was better.
I mean, look at that ugly pony thing and that Pidgey wannabe...

There's been a Pidgey rip-off every gen, did you just not notice?
Also, Tododile is the ugliest starter ever, except maybe Bulbasaur.

Lol for me its more, I cant get over needing every game per generation to be able to collect em all.
Had all games till it hopped to Advanced, and I stopped. Was going to get a 3DS, and was thinking of getting black.. and the ones I missed.. but nah. Its the same mess its always been.

It's getting really hard to tell all these normal/flying types apart anymore.
"Hey! It's a bird that's a different kind of gray/brown from the last one! Looks pretty good for your team, amirite?!"
Gimme some weird combos like a fire/water type. I don't care about the logistics...just make it happen!

Yep, your right. They do make pretty good TM/HM whores!

Like I said, I don't care about the logistics. My interest is waning and it's not like I have so little of a life as to actually be competitive (see: friend who has spent over 300 hours getting several teams of EV-trained legit shinies and was adamant on catching every legendary with regular Poke Balls). I still don't know if I'm gonna get this or not. If I do, it'll probably be to just play through once and be done with it as counterintuitive to the Pokemon experience that is. There are way too many to even conceive catching 'em all anymore cool story, bro.

@Tezz Actually it would still be weak to electric, ground and rock. And regardless of that, spiritomb already tried the no weaknesses thing, and it didn't exactly bowl over the competitive community.
In summary, LOL@ people who mistakenly think they're good at pokemon

@squallgengar I've put over 600 hours on Diamond and I've never bothered completing the dex on it, or in any of the previous games. And I was having fun, because i think that the joy of pokemon is that it offers the most polished level of party variety that any other RPG ever.
If you think that adding new pokeymans is something bad, maybe your nostalgia has made you miss the focus that the series had since the beggining. The most important aspect in pokemon, what makes every new generation feel fresh are, you know, the pokemon. The day they'll stop making new ones will be the day that the franchise will truly become stale.
And also, every new gen there are more exotic type combinations. Just look at Water/Ground and Grass/Flying in 3rd Gen, Electric/Ghost and Grass/Ice in 4th Gen, and now Dragon/Electric and Dragon/Fire in 5th Gen.

I love this idea, one of the most annoying things about past Pokemon was having Zubat and Geodude in every game, they were completely pointless because you had already raised these guys so many times you only wanted to try out the new 'Mons.

I know they had that cheat in the earlier Pokemon games and they had that cloning glitch in Pokemon Emerald, but I think the only way to get unlimited Master Balls now is by using an Action Replay.
