THANK YOU ROCKSTAR.

Maybe now I can actually enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the game.

My first multiplayer experience:

Ok MacFarlane's Ranch what now?

You have been killed by lxX-l33tgangstar-Xxl using (weapon that obviously I don't have as a newcomer) (repeat 10 times)

Found enough time to join a game from cover and thoroughly enjoyed it, but when I left...

You have been killed by OoOxDoPeBoYxOoO using (sniper at some ridiculous range that my revolver can't handle) (repeat 3 times... leave.)

I can't even remember seeing a sliding door...?

Must've been while I couldn't recover from being drunk or something.

During the mission with Irish at Thieves Landing where you have to save Shaky there are a few large sliding doors for the warehouse. The first time I went through that mission the doors actually looked normal when closed but when I opened them they would raise 3 feet into the air and 2 feet to the side. Very strange indeed.

When I completed that one, the wagon at the end magically floated into the air maybe 20-virtual feet, fell down, exploded, and caused me to restart the mission. Annoying, but hilarious.

I was playing a gang match with some friends and slid into cover. My character instantly rises into the air and falls down screaming the whole time ( must have been 5 seconds ) until he hit the ground. Laughed my ass off.

How does this stop the griefing? Why don't they just boot and ban certain griefers for like an hour or so? There's nothing more irritating than a "time-out".

I agree, it sucks for those that arent being asses and are just good. Would have been better to have a reporting system. Say 2 different players report you and you get booted for 60 mins ect.

I agree, it won't stop it at all. So they can kill you 6 times in a row, and the only result is a $1000 bounty? Not really much of a deterrent.

Honestly I think they should just have PvP Freeroam games, and Non-PvP free roam games, cause the other problem is these servers with PvP freaks going hog wild, is it's impossible to find someone to do a coop mission with on those kinda servers, so I'd love to be able to screen those out.

"While in Multiplayer Free Roam, if killed three times by any human player and each death is within 80 seconds of respawn, the victim is given the option to respawn away from the area."

I can't stand it when people don't give me enough time to change free roams. This will help

@Steven4 I see that point. I've had a good streak of kills going; I hope they can differentiate between griefers and good shots.

Agreed. I ALWAYS give other free roamers the benefit of the doubt and absolutely never start trouble, assuming others won't try to kill me when I'm minding my own business.

But when the inevitably do, I enjoy unloading unseemly amounts of bullets into their skulls. And if I just happen to do that a bunch of times in a row to try to teach a lesson, now I'M the bad guy because I defended myself from an unwarranted attack.

Love the game, but bad move with the anti-griefing measures, Rockstar!

This actually makes freeroam more somewhat realistic in many ways by making "murder" punishable whether it's NPCs or not. By that I mean, you can shoot eachother in town all day long, but you if you shoot a dog (example) you end up with a bounty... That never really made sense. It's not perfect, but they had to do something & I think this works for what it is.

What this is really going to ruin is large shootouts that end up happening with a bunch of random people that are all into it & are not griefing. You start doing good in a situation like that & all of the sudden one of the other guys gets a 1000 payday...

Personally, I think the good outweighs the bad though. It really could get really out of hand with some people & "Just switch lobbies/play private" is a BS answer to an issue that was making some people not want to play online at all.

OH MY GOD You guys are such wimps... Banning someone for killing you over and over.. That just means you need practice. Join a private match if you want to keep doing the same missions over and over. I understand getting killed by a posse of 5 over and over can get repetitive, but they dont deserved to be punished! Whoever likes this patch is a moron and takes games way to seriously.

@whylekat When I would play, I would go to a mission with my horse and then when the mission started, I would have to ride a wagon (with horses) and my stupid horse would just follow the wagon. That's how I took, for situations like that. It was annoying when I didn't want my horse to get shot up.

i encountered it a couple of times when i got off my horse to pick flowers, skin an animal or something and the horse would walk away a bit. i'd whistle to make it come over to me, and it'd come over but another identical horse would come as well. the second horse just ends up following you for a while.

actually came in handy once when my horse was shot by some gang and i was able to escape on the second horse!

@Speedracer98 I didn't think it was allowed to shoot the other racers so maybe it's DQ you? I don't remember but anyway, at this point in the game, you should have the Kentucky Saddler available. If you are not using it, go buy the deed and activate it and call it. If you are using the KS then just stay on the path when racing.

I actually like this patch. I mean, preferably a report system would be nice, but as far as automation goes, I like that it at least makes the griefers more prized targets. Better than nothing, and it augments the gameplay.

Okay well the Public Free Roam is a bit ridiculous. I get sniped from a canyon cliff and all I have is a weak ass pistol and a super weak ass repeater. I can not retaliate. Then where does it spawn me? RIGHT BY THAT SAME PERSON so they can do it again.

The 'fixes' here don't seem like they will do a damn thing to stop the griefing. The spawning away from the person might work, but that amount of seconds should be a bit bigger. Like killed 3 times by the same person within 3 minutes. Then you can choose to spawn away.

I have been trying to do the same Gang Hideout - the gulch one - for days now. Every free roam I join someone else is trying it, or camping and killing anyone who wants to try it. I can do any other gang hideout in the game but that one. Stupid to say the very least.

The way it's set up now, makes me want to boost my rank way up so I can at least defend myself somewhat in normal free roam activities.

@familyguy829 Yeah.. all it takes is about 3 seconds to open up eBay and search for GTA IV 360. There are multiple results for $5 and a handful for $10 with free shipping. It wasn't that much of an exaggeration.

http://glyde.com/#!viasearch/products/7955438/Grand-Theft-Auto-IV

$6.75 for the 360 version.

Maybe look a little bit harder before you bust out your e-sarcasm? Thx.
