Heavy Rain Move Edition patch coming 'pre-Xmas,' free if you own the game
44
SCEE product Manager Ross Alexander took to the EU's PlayStation Blog earlier today and revealed that the PlayStation Move-enabled version of Heavy Rain will be available "pre-Xmas." He also noted that it will be digitally distributed for free via PSN to those who already picked up the disc, though he gave no word on a re-release of the retail edition with Move functionality already baked-in.
Apparently, the waggle-ified version of Heavy Rain will be playable both with the Move and a DualShock 3 or a Move and the Navigation Controller -- the latter of which Alexander claims is the only way to get the "full experience." Trailers with the new Move controls are forthcoming, but why wait? We've dropped a handful of screens into a gallery below right now.

The people who don't have the game at all will be able to buy a new version with the Move patch already on the disc. But for those with the regular version will have to download the Move patch to get Move support. So you're not really for the patch, you're just paying for the whole game with the added convenience of having the Move patch already on the disc.

I can't second this enough. The Wii Edition of RE4 was easily my favorite and I wanna play RE5 with the Move. If they patch the original RE5, they've guaranteed my (as well as many others' I'm sure) Move purchase.

I really really hate Capcom lately for all of this... Making RE5 rubbish... making people pay for dlc that was on the disc... and now this...
Honestly think they should just sack everyone and start afresh coz it seems like they ran out of good ideas a long time ago lol

I still don't believe that the original RE5 can't be patched. Bunch of liars.

Sorry I just find it hard to find a game fun when it is doing everything exactly like the last game did but worse.
RE4, first time I saw the chainsaw guy = shit my pants.
RE5, first time I saw chainsaw guy = this again?
I missed my inventory, I missed my typewriters, I missed the merchant fella... Too much fail for one game sorry.
Also... What's the point in breaking a Resident Evil game into little chapters? That aint right.
All the things they took away were the good things, and all the things they tried to add were bad things...

Oh God, Sony why did you take them off the DLC to include MOVE! I'm sure it would be fine, but I was hoping the DLC would fix some plot holes. I love this game and want to play it again, but I have it sitting there until I can upgrade to a 55" from my measly 32".

I just completed Heavy Rain last night. What a great game.
I think they can verify if you own the game or are renting because there is some info in the booklet that they will use to verify. I could be wrong. I don't care for it either way though.

Wait a second, what's the point in getting a 'New' version of the game which will probably hit retail price at about $60 if the 'Old' version which is $15 or something now, which will get an update to be updated to the 'New' version?
Explain, brainstorm.. please!

They're not going to re-release Heavy Rain. The copies that are made once the patch is out will probably just have the patch in it already, like how when you buy a ps3 it doesn't start at version 1.0, it's updated to the newer versions.
And Heavy Rain wont be $15 for a LONG time...

"to get the full experience, you need move and nav", so to get the full experience, you get to spend another $100+ for the game

Waste of time and money. They stopped making the DLC just to add this. It's not going to sell more units of the game to make it worth the time and money spent to patch the game and make new copies. Sony had no new games made in time for launch and just trying to get any game they can muster up ready. I want the dlc that was promised to the people that already bought the game

Got the platinum, and I don't think MOVE support will be enough for me to want to go back to this game for a long time (some of the endings were too depressing). But this isn't the kind of update I want to see for Heavy Rain. I'd rather see them introduce extra scenarios and endings so that the Origami Killer can end up being different people based on your choices.
That being said, I'm glad Sony is patching older games to make the MOVE more enticing. *crosses fingers for an Uncharted patch down the road*
