Hopefully this "tech demo" will influence Molyneux to make Black & White 3 specifically for Kinect.

And yes I will keep repeating myself on this matter until Molyneux himself replies back to me and says he's working on it.

Black and White exclusively for Kinect?? wow i've seen ppl get downvoted for making stupider comments... Black and White should be a PC game, like it originally was, "hey guys here is a sequel to an awesome game but you need a $150 gimmick peripheral"

Have you played Black and White? Captain Planet's idea actually sounds pretty good, seeing as that game was designed to use mouse gestures, and as often as possible. It was even playable with some forms of VR input, if I'm not mistaken. Aside from maybe one other idea I've heard, this idea is the only good potential use of Kinect I've ever heard of.

And Captain Planet, quit hogging the covers.

Black and White is a God game. What better way to immerse yourself into a game of that kind, then to smite your creation(s) with hand gestures instead of a mouse?

of course i played Black and White, thats when i used to play PC games exclusively... Alice, Half Life, i'll even take it further back old school with Magic Carpet and Terminal Velocity.

but of course i get downvoted, how surprising. You're all stupid if you think PC gamers (the ORIGINAL black and white fans) will be happy if this was true. Why not tell them Sims and Diablo requires an extra external peripheral to play also.

Have we really gotten to the point in society where the image of a young boy immediately translates to pedophilia? WTF is wrong with Molyneux's brain?

Yea, yea. I called bullshit on that Milo crap at last year's E3 and now we're getting a bit of an admitting that this is not worthy of game status. I think the big thing, like I originally thought, is that their tech is not up to snuff. All that about gamers' scruples and such sounds like more of a smoke screen because I would have thought something like would have been thought about a loooong time ago while that tech demo was developed for last year's E3.
BS, Peter, BS....

To be honest, the only reason I really got interested in Kinect was because of the Milo demonstration last year. I thought it was really cool even though it was staged, but cool nonetheless.

So, why the hell show us something that he isn't planning on releasing. All we get is some games I'm never gonna play because I'm too lazy to jump around to play video games and some Minority Report type feature on Xbox Live that I'm never gonna use because it would just be easier to use the controller that is already in my hand.

Kinect isn't really looking that great anymore. To me at least.

To be fair, you should realize that most stuff shown on new tech at E3 is tech demos. It's amazing that Killzone 2 actually did become a product, but look at how long that took.

I think the point of Milo was to show you what is possible. The whole thing was probably staged anyway--much like the KZ2 demo or most sneak previews of things. The equivalent of demo'ing a proposed website by just photoshopping some mockups and then clicking through them in PowerPoint.

@Saga286 It's clear you didn't watch the video or audio podcast with his interview. what you can do in the milo demo will be in a game.
but it won't be a game just with milo. how would that be fun? just sitting there talking to a fake boy? if you want to talk to a boy, go to school or the park.
he even made a joke about how people were criticizing Milo because of the creepiness factor of having a relationship with a boy. that's how different the world is now. before it was safe to talk to strangers. now, it's worrisome to talk to a child without being accused of being a child molester.

What is this excuse about putting a boy in a game? Is Molyneux aware that like half of all videogames made feature crappy stories and a young boy? Pokemon (heck, any JRPG), Ico, Animal Crossing, anything with Katamari in the title... I'm blanking a bit here, but I could swear that half of NES platformers had young boy protagonists... Blaster Master anyone? Up for some frog rescuin'?

It's not like Up! blazed a new trail... sheesh.

When I first saw this, I never thought it would be put into production, because as Molyneux said it can't be easily made into a game.

What would be cool is like a virtual friend/assistant. And to make it less 'dark' the character could be programmed to not understand the player when asked about things like sex and extreme violence. If text adventure games from the 80s can do it, then it should be still possible. They could also let you choose an adult as your 'friend' so people weirded out by playing with a virtual child would still play. And to top it all off, it could be like an assistant, remembering dates, names, places, and reminding the user of things. Like you could have the friend remind you to exercise and give you encouraging remarks and advice

Sounds like Milo is a game based upon the interview I read on Joystiq today:

"We actually had ideas for how characters move which we've implemented into games like Milo."

"And this is one of the reasons why I'm absolutely vehement about not giving a release date for Milo. Because as soon as I give that release date, then I'm on this express train and it's gotta get finished. And it requires so much artistry and balancing and tweaking and polishing."

Yeah just like the Wii. 75 million sold and core gamers still say it's a boring dust collecting gimmick that doesn't work right.

They could just include the tech demo with the eye and be sure to label it as a demonstration. That's really a no brainer.

So.. Molyneux is scared of Virtual Child molesters?
Seriously?

Yet you can abandon your wife/husband and children, get them killed, and then fart on their corpses in Fable 3.

wtf.
