"But it's becoming abundantly clear from these leaks that we're going to not care about it so hard that it may register on the Richter scale."

So no more posting news about this then...please?

I'm sorry, but Joystiq really doesn't like Windows 7 ultimate. I've been trying to upload one, and have tried JPG, BMP, and PNG and none of them have worked.

No luck. It said "Avatars may take up to 5 minutes to update on blogs" but it's been 20 minutes and nothing happened.

$187 million for a company like that? Wow... that sounds like Google paid way too much.

@lokid20 I thought that as well, but read the source apparently slide was worth 500 million in 2008..

Google also overpaid for youtube at the time, but now considering they can force all os manufacturers to use a codec they have been creating for html 5 video (an open source one) it kind of makes sense, you can see they were looking at streaming media wholesale and youtube was the most successful site of its kind at the time and still is hence why it makes sense now..

I guess this has some similar logic, but I still have to agree with you its a lot of money for what is very simplistic widgets and "games"..

To put another thing out there, android has been picking up a lot of traction as of late, its the perfect delivery agent for googles attempt at another facebook (orkut was a relative failure everything considered)

This and zynga on their own social platform which is championed and rolled out onto all android handsets could make an instantly massive new social site, with games already available inside, could be what they are looking at..

I'm going to admit, I play "SuperPoke Pets". I started playing it with my fiance on facebook and sorta kept going. Only facebook game I play, too.

I refuse to spend real money on it, but I enjoy the 5 minutes a day I spend with it.
