Bayonetta conjures up budget release in Japan

Sega's Bayonetta will be released as a budget title in Japan on September 2 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. As Andriasang (rightly) points out, the cover art for the budget release is demonically ugly, so it's a good thing that it can be reversed to reveal an awesomely artistic pink cover.

Checking with Sega about the excellent twitch-action title releasing at a budget price internationally, a company representative told us the publisher had nothing to announce at this time. Then again, Bayonetta currently retails for a budget-friendly $40, but you can certainly find it for less.

Bioshock 2 is pretty good, but I would agree that Bayonetta is a better and far more inspired game. And the 360 version is the best version so get that.

bayonetta is better then Bioshock 2? Good to know, I was going to go that route instead. Ill go pick up Bayonetta, whenever I find it.. (Stupid town >.>)

Is the 360 version still better? Did the PS3 never get a patch? Everyone knew it was flawed. The developers couldn't be that oblivious and ignore the PS3 supporters...could they?

There is a patch, that allows you to install data to the HDD.

Think it improves load times. I never knew my town sucked at games though, I can find praticly any game (Just got Folklore for $20, yet Bayonetta is NOWHERE to be found. >_>)

I hope this means it is going to be a greatest hits soon here in the US.
I want to play this game but my backlog is too big and my wallet too thin for a $60 game. Guess I'll go steal peoples stolen drug money.

@Faenix The link Alex left at the end of the post has it listed on Amazon for the fair price of $29.99, and it's the 360 version no less. rar, I've seen PS3 for $29, but well yeah, I passed on it for obvious reasons >w

I got it like a month ago for $30 at gamestop during a sale. I think it's $40 without the sale. Great game, but if you can wait, wait til it drops in price. Still well worth the price.

amazon.com for $30 doesnt help me. thats american, im canadian. The border would no less rape me with some addition fee, + no idea if they'd charge the stupid exchange rate, or the actual (Games in canada are $8-$10 more, when the REAL exchange rate is only a $1 or 2 more)

I can't wait for the budget version to hit the states. And with the glorious pink cover too. It's so rare to find a game with a pink cover that isn't a Barbie game.

I think the 'pink' cover is by Adam Hughes. Sweet! (great game too) :)

I've bought for 18 € some months ago (http://www.blahdvd.com/Games/Bayonetta-PS3/BAYONETTAPS3/product.htm), now it's 15,85 € (or 21 USD). Amazon is just too expensive.

Cool they got a Adam Hughes cover for it.

Actually, both sides are nice, minus the platinium version for xbox. That frame really looks like a cheap 90s cover.
