This week's Weekly Webcomic Wrapup winner XKCD helps to highlight one of the harsh realities that video games tend to ignore -- specifically, that frogs are monsters. What with their leaping onto highways full of cars and relishing in the disaster that follows. For shame, we say!
Virtual Shackles' "What is love?" (baby don't hurt me -- ahem) took third place, while Brawl in the Family's "Kirby's Pet" placed second. As always, please send in your suggestions for tomorrow's Wrapup or leave a comment below. And congrats to all the winners!

One thing that somepeople doesn't know about xkcd - on mouse rollover(or whatever it is called when you stop cursor on picture for a few seconds to display extra text) the text sometimes contains most of the "joke"...
Froger one, Title text:
"I understand you and your team worked hard on this, but when we said to make it more realistic, we meant the graphics."

I'm pretty sure that there's a rule somewhere that says no matter how funny any other comic that week is, xkcd must always win.

"It's intelligent comedy. Only intelligent people find it funny."
...Really? You find a frog jumping onto the road and causing an accident "intelligent comedy"? I think that tell us a bit more about "your" intelligence rather than that of the joke.

The better comic won I suppose. Weak week all in all. Just gotta hope this week's batch is great (and hopefully devoid of BitF).

Is it just me or is the comic funnier with just these two frames Joystiq grabbed out of context? Sometimes a lot of these game comics have a funny premise and beat it to death. Joystiq does a great job a lot of times just posting the funny part. I'd definetely like to see a site that just did that; rip out the funny parts and leave the excess out that ruins the joke.

Remember that a crucial element of xkcd comics is their title tag (the desciption you see when you mouse over them).
Also, why is there no direct link posted to the winner comic? http://xkcd.com/772/

if I saw a frog that big, I'd chance swerving into the other lane as well.

So what's the deal with the image links on the new joystiq? Clicking on the article image just links us to the article we're already on, or back to the homepage (depending on the article)?
It used to be that if we clicked the image of that comic up there it took us to the whole comic. Now it just refreshes this page...
