30 seconds before deciding on the english name of this game:

This dictionary has over 100,000 words in it... but will it blend?!

Haha, I don't think I've ever seen a title try so hard...

@Acosta02 The Japanese are masters of the portmanteau.

I think there are no two foreign words that they would be unable to blend into a single, cute, confounding and utterly Japanese sounding third word.

@Acosta02 They're so good, they could make 'genocide' and 'rape' into a single word and make you think, "hm, that sounds pretty good, I'd like some of that."

Actually, they may have already done that in Pokemon....hm...

I love these kinds of shoot-em-ups, but it drives me nuts that the likeliness of this getting localized is slim... although it is getting better, with both Gundemonium and Cave's DeathSmiles and EspGaluda II getting localized with lots of notice.

I mean, I didn't even know Ultimate Shooting Collection came out till I looked up what happened to Radio Allergy GCN a few months ago

So, any word on any region lock yet?

@SystemPatch

DeathSmiles is so dope! Even if shooting the shit out of monsters playing as underaged, scantily clad witches makes me feel like a bad person.

Shmups rule, but I am sick of only seeing new bullet hell shooters. Memorizing patterns is good fun, but sometimes you just can't beat the twitchy think-on-your-feet gameplay of shooters like Gradius and R-Type.

@Hafk rar, it's not often I find someone who shares those feelings with me. Don't get me wrong I love my bullet hell, but some traditional style shmups would be equally delicious~! rar, Joystiq you suddenly feel like home!

rar, I like my shmups owo~! But, this? This is even a pass from me, it's really kind of is a handy down from the GameCube to the Wii, and now on to the 360 in the worse way possible. Unless they dramatically change the game, they might as well port it to a trash can next time x_x'

Although on an unrelated note, yet curiously related note! There I am on Siliconera's comments! Oh~me, that rapscallion~! *waves*

You're trying too hard to be a 10 year old Japanese boy.

@Raiki aww, lighten up, I just am having fun posting, no reason to get down on me owo; Besides I'm making valid comments on the topic. But if the way I am bothers you, you're excused from having to read my posts, doesn't bother me in the slightest~!

I played Radirgy Precious on the PS2 back in the day and it was an absolutely TERRIBLE shmup. Avoid.

If this game is NOT region free, it will be heartbreaking. Question, does anyone know if it's possible to use a NA-regioned Xbox profile on a JP-regioned 360 (or vice-versa)?

I have silver accounts in JP and US, I downloaded Destination Arcade that way, so I don't see why not.

@John Z

Yep this is possible! You can have accounts/profiles for each region on a NTSC-U 360! This isn't too hard to do, although you need an email address from the region you wanna add. I've really only downloaded demos this way and nabbed some DLC that was only available in Japan (not positive DLC works like that in all instances though).

I'm pretty sure Live Arcade games will work too, but Games On Demand from what I hear won't work sadly.

Gah. This reminded me that I need to get Ultimate Shooting Collection, considering I'm getting 3 games for only around $20.

Wonder if this'll make it to the US...

Why do this games never use the full screen?

They are designed to work with arcade screens and they are almost never wide screen.

@(Unverified) some of them have the option of rotating the screen to get that long vertical screen of the arcade and use the whole screen. but that's if you're willing to turn your HDTV on its side.

I've picked up every single shmup that's come out on any current system, and the whole collection takes up but a small corner of my bookshelf. I've been playing Deathsmiles nonstop lately, and I REALLY wish more of these games would come out stateside!
