According to Amazon France listings spotted by The Sixth Axis, both Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia franchises could be getting the Blu-ray treatment in the coming months. Unfortunately, other than a 39.95 Euro ($54) price tag and a November 2 release date, neither listing provides any real detail on what the trilogies might contain.
If Ubisoft is planning to re-release these games as compilations, it's possible that they might feature updated graphics, much like last year's God of War Collection. With a Sly Cooper collection on the way -- and rumors of a Team Ico Collection refusing to go away -- we'd hardly be surprised to see third-party publishers giving their own classics another spin.

I don't see why it matters really? Would you enjoy the games any less if they were on other platforms as well? Console exclusivity doesn't benefit anyone except a few stupid fanboys.

@Sony Playstation 2
Says the person named Sony Playstation 2.
And why is Cha being voted down? Splinter Cell Conviction was an Xbox Exclusive. It's a little odd that's it's only on PS3, but then again it could be Sony's idea of releasing trilogy sets (a la God Of War).
Anyway, kinda excited. I'd love to play the old Splinter Cell games in HD.

@Bcta30 that's where compression comes in., otherwise there'd be a lot more multi-disc multi format games.. I can think of 2, FFXIII & Rage (which isn't even out yet) ..if done well, no one will really notice.. When MS said they were sticking with DVD instead of HD-DVD, I bet a lot of people were thinking MS will be kickin them selves later..
one odd one is Dragon Age, where there's actually more data of the 360 disc then on the PS3 disc (wtf indeed)

So Microsoft paid Ubi to make Conviction a Microsoft exclusive and maybe Sony paid for this to be a PlayStation only thing. What is the big deal?

Trophies for Chaos Theory would be well fun. There are fewer greater pleasures than getting 100% on a level. Would be awesome if online play returned as well!
Not looking forward to the idea of playing Pandora Tomorrow again though, such rubbish compared to CT and the original. It's only redeeming quality being the online mode. Hope this is real, would love the PoP set as well.

i would love too get PS3 Splinter Cell Collection And Then Find out what happens after the 3rd one by playing Double Agent and Convic....oh right that's 360 only so why should i buy this collection ( besides the point of Trophies ) too only not be able too play the 4th game and or play Conviction if Conviction is 360 only .. i don't even get too play the whole story as Sam Fisher !
unless this means that it will be announced on the Splinter Cell Collection Release that it's coming cause i found it dumb that we got all the Splinter Cell Titles but the LAST ONE.
In the mean time should i really buy this collection( i do want it for trophies and i like Collections ) even if i'm not going too be able too finish the story on the Playstation 3 ?

@HardBoiled2009 - Because, as you know, this is the first time a game in a franchise has appeared on a platform competing against the platform(s) earlier games were released for.
How have we managed when infinitely more important franchises such as Dragon Quest, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Banjo-Kazooie, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera ... have done the exact same thing?!?
If you care that much about the the story in Splinter Cell (someone has to I guess) buy an Xbox 360 and play the one game that you won't be able to get on PS3 at the moment.
Having owned and played MGS1 / Twin Snakes on GameCube, Sons of Liberty: Substance on Xbox, Snake Eater: Subsistance on PS2, and Guns of the Patriots on PS3, I don't see the big deal.

@Faenix - So you pick the one bit of my post that didn't really matter, and then turn it into picking apart the merits of owning either console. Cool beans, thank you internet.
Sorry, but if this 'one game' isn't important to this person, they wouldn't have bothered raising such a complaint.
With love,
PSWii60 player.

other parts of your post werent that important, tbh.
majority of the games listed are on more then one console. And I own every console this gen, except a DS. ;)
He is a splinter cell fan, that wants to play the newest splinter cell title on his console of choice. How is that bad?

I Hope it does come for the PS3 i thought it was out for a year already ( seems like a year ago too me for some reason ) but my friends said it's been out for like 5 or 6 months now.
@Faerie Tael
you may not see it as a big deal to buy a new system for 1 game but i'm strapped for cash also i was told in a PS3 message about my post that the game came out this year not last year as i thought it did. so i can see it still coming too PS3, and I WILL be buying the Collection on PS3 too support Developers to release Trilogy's on PS3.

And to be honest, i'm renting Splinter Cell Conviction right now, its great and everything - but its nothing to cry about.

Conviction will eventually release on PS3. All the other SC games released on Playstation after being on XBox and I don't see Conviction as being any different. This re-release is probably the precursor to the holiday release of Conviction on PS3.

It would be amazing to be able to play Chaos Theroy on PS3. AS long as its the PC or Xbox version. Not the cut down PS2 version.

Damn, too bad I already played the Prince series to hell and have absolutely no interest in anything Splinter Cell.
If this rumor is true, though, I may just get the Prince trilogy for the sake of the Trophies and my own collection.

Actually I believe Ubisoft has already specifically said in those exact words, they didn't want to touch it. Although to be fair, I heard it was kinda glitchy, Grasshopper didn't handle it porting it to PS3/360, Feelplus did, and I guess the results were less then stellar.
