Split/Second getting three DLC packs in August, 'major DLC pack' in September
22
If you're still racing around the structurally unsound tracks in Split/Second, you'll be pleased to note that developer Black Rock Studios plans to release three DLC packs "in the next couple of weeks," as well as a fourth in September. The first three packs will introduce new cars, while the pack coming next month is said to be "major" and will come packed with an entirely new environment (we're hoping that means new powerplays as well).
No pricing has been offered for any of the packs, but the game's Facebook page (where all of this was announced) says that the third DLC pack will be free "as a way of saying thanks to our awesome community," and will contain a "special edition vehicle based on the original classic Ryback Cyclone." Solid launch dates weren't given either, and nothing's showing up on XBLM or PSN just yet, but we do have this one screenshot above from the second DLC pack of a "High Octane Supercar." Don't say we never gave you nothin'!

@Cube Hopefully. Split/Second was a pretty good game except for its insanely rubber-bandy AI. Easily the worst rubber-banding I've seen in a while. (Personally, some rb is alright, but Split/Second goes way overboard with it.)

Will they fix the online multiplayer? It needs have matchmaking where you can play against people of your skill level/car class.

AI isnt broken. the key to racing and winning is this. just race regular the first 2 laps and dont use any power plays. if youre in last place you either A0 suck or B) need to find a better car that suits you.. then, on the last lap, thats when you either do a big route change and take out almost the whole field or just regular power plays to take multiple people out at once. then its just racing to the end, knowing where the power plays will come from and having a few extra plays stocked up just in case you get hit with something.

i dont hate blur and im not trolling. blur has much more cheap ai. with split second if you know where the enviro damage is coming from you can avoid it 95% of the time. nothing homes in on you or anything like that.

Sounds good, only thing is ive already platted this game. Will see whether its worth the money from purchasers feedback on the Playstation Store. Also hope it has extra trophies.

I could grab this in a Split/Second. Now if only I had the game...

the AI isnt that bad. the more power plays you use, the more aggressive they become, so only use power plays on the last lap. not that hard to get 1st in every race.

Awesome. I was starting to doubt if the game would be getting DLC since sales weren't so great because nothing could topple Red Dead Redemption.
I didn't mind the re-using of assets much, but some new tracks would be great. A neon infused casino strip or amusement park anyone?
