Agreed.

Hey Richard, where have the XBLA in Brief segments gone? Are they on hiatus until Summer of Arcade is over? Or have they been canceled for good? I really enjoy those and have missed your opinions on some games. I appreciate the hard work you do on those. Hope they return!

@OperaMando

I haven't been doing them during Summer of Arcade since we generally have a review up already by the time a game releases. The purpose of XBLA in Brief is really to help people see what a game is like, which isn't really necessary if we already have a review up.

Rest assured, XBLA in Brief will be back.

This is a TOTAL ripoff of Super Mario Brothers.

....sorry, I wanted to get on the "MNC is a ripoff of game X" bandwagon, and all of the other games have already been mentioned.

This game is a total ripoff of football.

I mean, madden is team based, every character has a different class, it's all about collecting the most money, you can "juice" yourself mid game, and it revolves around a sport on monday nights.

The connection is just too deep to be ignored.

I believe there is a solo mode, but I do not know if it is just tuned down to one person or if there are AI teammates.

In multiplayer matches, I believe it is just player controlled.

OK just one question is wasn't able to find. Can I make sure that a friend and I join the same game on the same team? It seems like it should be an obvious yes, but there's been other games that don't do this (Perfect Dark).

@lucktacular

I believe it works like most other games on the 360. Where you can either join a game or make a game then just invite them to game.

So I don't believe you can play on the same team. But don't take my word for it. I'm not entirely sure.

MNC attempts to put you and your friends on the same team. If you invite a friend mid-game, he should be on your team. If your team is full, he'll start on the other team. Once the next match starts, however, your friend should be on your team.

Of course, you can always party up beforehand as well.

@RichardMitchell Hey Richard, are XBLA in Brief segments no longer happening? Or are they just taking a hiatus for Summer of Arcade? I have noticed the reviews for the games, but I've always enjoyed your take on the games with actual footage/coverage, etc. Thanks for always doing a great job on those and I hope they return soon! Great review, btw.

I remember when Gamespot was walking around the floor during E3 and some spokesperson for MNC pulled the GS guy over to check out MNC and the GS guy was like "what is this...", just kinda faking enthusiasm, and the GS users commenting were all like "this is gay, brush him off and go to X game!"

I'm amused that this game turned out to be so great.

After looking at some videos, the game has a more Ratchet & Clank feel to it as opposed to TF2. The only hint I've gathered that makes it similar to TF2 is the team-based gameplay and art-style..and the gameplay is very very close to DotA.

The developers themselves have said that they are proud to be influenced by successful titles. Any game coming out here on forth will have some type of influence from a previous game. Who said TF2 had to be the only special one?

Game looks great :)...cannot wait to play this Wednesday!

DAMN!!!!

I LOVE TF2!!!!

But i am a sick bastard, and i don't have it for PC, i have orange box, but you know, no updates at all.

I am glad this is coming out, it reminds me of TF2, but there are SOO many differences, ones that i think are different and innovative to class based shooters. And this review definitely has me sold, im buying it.

DAMN, anybody else think the gut and that peachy smile on that big ol' green mascot is sexy as hell? I'm just saying....

So how long will this game be selling for $15? I just don't see why I would pay $15 for almost any game on xbox live. Lower it to $10 for premium games and $5 or less for regular run of the mill games and I would actually buy some games on xbox live. The only game worth $15 was Shadow Complex.

@McNeelyJ This game could - potentially - give you endless entertainment and they have full plans to support the game. Why wouldn't you pay $15? I've seen people spend $5 on a Frappuccino which in my opinion isn't worth it. Stop being cheap or take your ball and go home.

Nate.

P.S. What I am trying to say is that no one wants your negative opinion here.

escort npcs to destroy towers? 4 skills, 1 of them passive? several classes including assassins and tanks? mister mitchell, when you compared this game to other games you forgot to mention League of Legends (LoL), also know as the official new DoTa (a warcraft 3 mod). it has all this. ok, MNC is not a tactical rpg. but its obviously LoL turned into a FPS.
LoL is good (and for free ^^), MNC sounds promising.
Oh, and LoL is not for XBOX, sorry.

My friend came over one weekend for a day full of gamage- and he brought over ingredients to create a "bacon-explosion": essentially a glorious culinary creation consisting of bacon-wrapped-sausage-wrapped bacon (oh yes, that is correct, bacon in the middle, nestled in a rolled loaf of sausage, surrounded with a cleverly woven latticework of bacon).
He added pineapple and Canadian bacon on top, for the extra carribbean bacon 'flair' then slow cooked the majestic creation to ensure perfect crispy bacon texture without danger of carbonizing our meal - finally we lovingly slathered it with hickory-flavored barbeque sauce.
My arteries were clogged with joy beyond imagination, and satisfaction beyond description.

I Love Bacon. I like to set a George Foreman Grill on a timer with bacon on it at the end of my bed so I can wake up to fresh cooked bacon in the morning. It suck when I burn my foot on the grill though. The bacon always make it better. Bacon can fix ALL.

One time, I was on a plane, first class obviously being a spy for Her Majaesty of the British Empire and was telling three swedish models my latest escapde when all of a sudden the plane began to shake. At first I thought it might have something to do with two the models big breasts pushing the plane's weight capcity (the third one had small breasts, but I told her to jeep her chin up and that her back will thank her in years time). However, after another shake, I realised that this was no mere turblance and a distressed flight attendant came in a panic and tried to tell me the situation. I ignored him, becoming bored of his tale until another flight attendent came and expanded on the situation. After listening to the female (after shooing away the male of course) explain that a MEGA Shark was jumping out of the sky and attacking the plane, It came to the conclusion that only I could save the day. After a manage a trois (I'm sure even the shark has manners and thus will wait before resuming it's battle) I came back (seeing the plane more damanged...damn that shark and his ungenteman behavior) I did battle with the beast. None of my martial arts that i learned from 24 different countires, nor the The M-388 Davy Crockett I gained from a russian friend (from a Colonel Volgin...Vodka...whatever) worked. I was at a loss for ideas and it seemed the adventures of Creshendo of the Lightning Brigade the III would come to an end (while in underwear). Then I remembered what my mother said "if a shark ever attacks you while you're in a plane, hit it's nose with bacon" And so the mad scramble for bacon began. It seemed that this plane did not contain bacon...I mean...what plane in this day and age HAS NO BACON! Is this such a barbaric world I, Creshendo, live in? But then I noticed a fat boy acting suspicious. Upon beating the seven and a half shades of him, I noticed he'd been hiding bacon. I'm sure hiding in the corner, praying to God is suspicious, for I do no such thing. And as for having bacon with salad....SALAD? He must be a spy...I reminded myself to interrogate him later. Anywho the shark jumped, said g'day and then try to bite the plane again, in which time I wrapped the bacon round my knucles like a lap dancer wrapped her legs around me in my time in Berlin and punched the beast just like i punched the lap dancer when I found out "she" was a "he". The day was save and after a rough landing, I was awarded the Anti-Shark Replennet Trophey in honour of my actions.

And thus this is my greatest Bacon experience. Well...there was one time better, but I'll tell you when your old enough to know about such things ;)

Great Review. As for bacon, there was a time i tried to make bacon myself. Let's just say it didn't go so well. But luckily i had renter's insurance. Which is an absolute must have if your into cooking anything with grease. I tried to make hash-browns myself on more than one occasion. it looked like shredded garbage. So now I've learned my lesson, i leave all my bacon cooking to the professionals at the local IHOP and Denny's.
