Street Fighter pros offering paid lessons over Xbox Live and PSN

Let's face it: Nobody ever reached a professional level of Street Fighter superiority without the tutelage of their forefathers. Except ... well, except for the first people who were good at the game. Regardless, you can (probably) reach the upper echelon of Super Street Fighter IV players by signing up for a few lessons being offered by pros such as Justin Wong and Ryan "Gootecks" Gutierrez.

Of course, these lessons come at a price ranging from $40 to $50 for one hour of help, and are delivered over Xbox Live and PSN. If those prices sound reasonable, you can find more info how to sign up on EventHubs. Or, you could just give us $50, and we'll tell you to Hadouken over and over again until the fight is over. You can't go wrong with the Just Keep Hadoukening™ strategy!

It's just hilarious to me that people get all worked up over this. If you want the service but can't afford it, then sure, I can excuse some rage.

But if you're not interested in the service at all.. who cares? It doesn't affect you.

Just move and focus your attention elsewhere.

Being an asshole economist, I would usually disagree with this. But, this is a great way to make money, and I support them 100%. People are gonna be pissed when all they learn is down+Square, though.

For fifty bucks extra just pay your ISP more a month so you can get 25mbps plus, this will considerably increase your K/D ratio.

Doesn't help when it's all P2P. If it was server based then yes it would help. On P2P? Nope. You only go as fast as the HOSTS connection allows you to which is only a paltry 1-2 MBPS at most and that's assuming the game would let you hog all of their bandwidth.

I've always found the "keep spazticly spinning the joystick around in circles while mashing every single button repeatedly" to be somewhat effective for new players.

What kind of advice could these people possibly give that's not already on youtube or some form?

I can summarize what most advice will get people:
1 - Pick Ryu or Ken
2 - press quarter-circle forward
3 - jump
4 - low punch
5 - repeat steps 2-4

The problem with this is that players that would consider paying someone for video game training. Probably won't be any better for it in the end, They are just giving their money away.
