I'm gonna go out and buy a sandwich, the movie soundtrack and head back home. Hopefully it'll be on the psn by then.

I see the graphics are done by Paul Robertson. For those who don't understand that awesomeness that this implies, go do a YouTube search on "Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006"

Oh hell, here's the link because you're all probably lazy bastards:

I honestly don't think there could've been two more appropriate people working on this project than Paul Robertson and Anamanaguchi. It's like they born to make this game.

Okay, so sadly, I have no familiarity with the Scott Pilgrim comics, but they do sound quite intriguing. Anyone have any thoughts on whether it would be better to hold off playing this until I pick up the comics, or go ahead and jump into the game now? Sounds perfect to play with my wife and kid.

@Courtney

If you read the comics, it'd only boost your enjoyment of the game. But if you haven't, I honestly doubt it'll detract from the experience. There may be some homages you might gloss over, but the gameplay and presentation should still be an enjoyable experience regardless.

Having said that, the comics are a pretty decent read (and rather short at 6 volumes), so it probably wouldn't be too taxing to check that out either.

The comics also read pretty fast. I agree with EatSleepChuck too regarding some of the subtleties that will be missed. Having said that there are small variations on the plot to make it more applicable to a game format instead of a comic book. So I guess what I'm saying is that if you play the game and think its cool you may want to check out the books.

@ch3burashka You should, no matter what thing you get (game, movie, comic) You will get a different view and take on the Scott Universe, and all are fun and entertaining.

rar, can't wait! Really, enjoyed the graphic novels, and even got to meet Bryan Lee O'Malley in person, which was pretty badass! And it only gets even better with someone made of pure talent like Paul Robertson doing the visuals! I know what I'm doing the rest of the day, hooray~!

Other than some recent commercials for a movie starring the eternally pubescent Michael Cera, I've never heard of this.

This game had me hyped not only because it was Scott Pilgrim, but the look of it... I'd love to make a current gen game with an SNES look. The game looks great, multitude of modes sounds awesome and the price sounds perfect... I'm glad it didn't follow suit with say, Watchmen which hit a price point of $19.99, while BRAID came out at $14.99, and both lacked content to justify their prices.

With that said, the only thing that disappoints is there's no online co-op. I no longer have playdates and sleepovers... so hopping online for a quick game or two would've been nice with friends.

I personally don't care about the online co-op. Plenty of friends nearby to play the game with.

This game looks so fun! It's a definite buy for 10 bucks. Judging from the screens they've even recreated panels from the graphic novels, such as Knives Chau with LOVE coming out of her mouth. Also the Ikura Don from the sushi shop, I believe is from book 3.

So, here's the Scott Pilgrim video game. "Probably designed by Uwe Boll's less talented cousin Steve and coded by a drunken monkey," you say.

The only issue I take with this statement is that it assumes that Uwe Boll is talented. Unless you are taking 'talent' in this context to mean 'I have opposable thumbs and can work a camera.' In which case I'm pretty sure that Boll isn't human and therefore lacks opposable thumbs. Which by extension also means he has no talent at all. Pray for cousin Steve.

@mahaman55
dude, it's not that bad
the only thing that i don't like about it is that to get to each boss, you have to go through 2-3 levels and if you die, you have to start from the first one, even if you've cleared it
Oh!and i HATE the enemy's from the first studio(second ex) T.T

The Studio Set level was easier than the Toronto streets level for me, probably because i was already at level 10.

Died and restarted that stage tons of times playing on normal. I don't remember who sells it (wallace's secret store maybe?) but there's a permanent strenght boost power up that made the game easier. I've played it alone.

the reviewer didn't mentioned any bugs? music stops randomly and the game crashed once. ubisoft mentioned any patches?

Nah! The game and Scott Pilgrim property is more a love letter to action movies, anime, comic books and classic videogames from the 8-bit and 16-bit generations. If you're a geek who enjoys those kinds of things, you should dig Scott Pilgrim.
