That box art is bad ass. 10000x better than the standard edition box art. Why do they purposely make the standard box art ugly to make me want to drop my hard earned money on a special edition?

Who's doing the artwork for the game? If it's Ayami Kojima, well I'll buy it at a high price (for the artbook alone)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to be one of "those people," but I'm getting sick of special editions... I'm a hardcore gamer and quite the collector, making these editions too hard to resist and now a days, every frickin thing coming out gets a limited version!!! Every game I want this fall now has a collectors version, means instead of 6 x $60 = $$$ it's now 6 x $80 to $100 = bankrupt

@shadow I reaper

I know what you mean, I found out tho (after waiting so long to buy Devil May Cry 4) that you can still buy the special editions (new) after waiting a while for a much cheaper price (-$20 or even cheaper) on amazon. Sometimes tho it might be reverse depending on the rarity of the game. So you kinda have to know what's going to be REALLY a collectors edition or limited edition.

@Gil Is Munny : Amazon + Videogames = Discount, no sales tax and (usu.) free shipping. That equation works for me!

Wasn't the game not an Castlevania game at first? Plus wasn't Konami not sure of it till Kojima jumped on board as producer? Might be good but yeah this is super premature to say the least.

@Johnny Neat Correct. It was just Lords of Shadow, with no connection to the "Castlevania" franchise, that was being developed by Spanish-developer MercurySteam until Konami jumped in to publish the game and added Castlevania to the title to get more sales. Kojima's name on it is there to also sell more copies, he has "exec producer" role on it at best.

@Johnny Neat
I heard that there was more than one game pitched to konami to continue the castlevania franchise, Lords of Shadow being one of them. I don't know if anyone remembers but somewhere floating around the internet is a video from e3 2007 or something where Igarashi is put on the spot and announces an xbox 360/ps3 castlevania game being in the early stages of development, the trailer they showed had what looked like a 3d Alucard but not much else

That's what I thought, glad to hear I'm not making up stuff in my mind.

@JackD
I hope this is good and I would love to have an Alucard game that rocks. Who wouldn't?

How is that I went from not really caring for this game (since it's not a "true" Castlevania game) to wanting to shell out money for the collector's edition?

I am really looking forward to this title. Count me as a sale, don't even need reviews for this one.

I'm using my third eye this time.
