So, LSD: Dream Emulator is the weirdest game ever made by anybody. After becoming entranced by the hours of footage from the game currently on YouTube, we feel like we can make that statement with complete certainty. The game features no plot or any goals to speak of whatsoever -- it only tasks the player with taking short, ten-minute jaunts through areas inspired by a dream journal kept by a staff member of its Japanese developer, Asmik Ace Entertainment, who may or may not have been tripping on LSD at the time.
If that sounds like something you can get behind, you'll be pleased to learn the game's creator, Osamu Sato, recently announced on Twitter that the game would be coming to the PSOne Classics storefront on PSN. Of course, it's unlikely the game will come to the U.S. store, as the title was never localized for the States. That's no problem, though -- you might be able to find it at your favorite online auctions site for upwards of $200. That's a small price to pay for immeasurable weirdness!

LSD doesn't make you see flying rainbow colored unicorns. The best representation of LSD I have seen in a movie was probably Taking Woodstock. Check it out.
LSD is amazing, by the way, just stay away from the dirty shit. Let me rephrase that actually. Clean LSD is amazing.

It's actually pretty impossible to overdose on LSD. You would need pretty much millions of dollars worth of LSD to overdose on it. Damn near impossible. And it's also not addictive at all. One trip every couple of months at a concert (such as the Grateful Dead) is enough for me. When they say it's a trip, they ain't lyin, LOL. And bad trips aren't much to worry about as long as you have clean L and a good environment and good people around you with good karma. Caffeine, alcohol (especially alcohol!), ecstasy, coke, heroin, cigarettes, and many other drugs are a thousand times more dangerous than LSD. And as long as you don't have any family history of schizophrenia, you should be fine. LSD cannot make you go crazy unless you were already prone to going crazy. I.E. If you get schizophrenia as a result of taking LSD, you were most likely going to get it anyway. The LSD just made it come out quicker.
LSD is an experience like no other. Nothing can prepare you for it. The way your consciousness totally changes on the drug is amazing. And all it's doing is changing the way the chemicals in your brain do their jobs. Cause, as everyone knows, all that your mind is is chemicals and electrical signals telling you how you feel and how you perceive the environment and reality around you. LSD simply changes the way you perceive reality, and that in and of itself is totally amazing. If someone told you that today, for one day only, you could totally change the way the world looks and the way you feel about it, how could you say no? I surely could not, and LSD has forever changed me, for the better. Seriously folks, go to a Dead concert, eat some (hopefully) clean L and have the experience of a lifetime. You will surely not regret it.
I'm done rambling now about my favorite drug every. Sweet dreams everybody.

I have a Japanese account. It only takes a few minutes to create.
I've never tried using my credit card on the site, but I know you can buy Japanese PSN cards online.

I don't think you can use a US credit card on the JAP PSN store but all you have to do is buy a Japanese PSN card online and use that. The games and everything will work just fine... other than being mostly if not entirely in Japanese.

Sarcasm. I was merely reiterating a pointless complaint I see across the internet everyday, whilst calling an "LSD Simulator", of all things, a "good game"

Hey, i'm the guy you linked (thanks for that by the way).
I had no idea about this being put on PSOne Classics too, from what i'd always known it was completely obscure in Japan even, so maybe all these videos other people have been making in the states (MikeNnemonic's probably made the most videos for it, as well as researched the game the most) sparked something in Japan for it?

i have an ISO copy of this game, it is weird indeed. would not mind throwing down the cash for a digital copy from the psn store. Why announce something that isn't coming to the american store? This wasn't really a game that needed a Japanese translation. There should really be an 'import' section of the US PSN store.

I would never find this on a shelf (at my import shop; not currently in Nihon)
will the rest of the world get to revel in the bizarre? One can only hope.

Why pay $200 for a sim, when you can get the actual exp for $5-10?
Of course, the good thing about a game is that you can turn it off whenever you want. The Worst thing about LSD is that you cannot do so. No matter how hard you wish.

Check that; if Inception has taught me anything, it's that to wake up from a "bad dream", you simply have to jump off a building and die!

It's a neat game, or idea for a game, but there's surprisingly little variety and it gets boring after about 30 minutes. I'd love to see the concept revisited with today's technology.
