Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition leaked by retailers
49
Anyone waiting for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to get the "Game of the Year" treatment may hit pay dirt soon enough. The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition has been spotted on a couple of retail sites -- ShopTo.Net in the UK and Amazon in the US. The game appears to contain all the downloadable content released thus far, including all the VIP content, the limited edition unlocks and the four-player Onslaught Mode, as well as DICE's online-only XBLA and PSN game, Battlefield 1943.
Amazon has PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions listed at $59.99 for August 31st. It's worth noting that Onslaught is actually the only pay-for DLC ($10) included on the Ultimate Edition. The VIP content normally comes free with new copies of the standard edition, and the Limited Edition bonuses -- apart from the two weapons from 1943 -- can be unlocked the old-fashioned way (by playing the game!). Since the older version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 retails for $40 or less, it becomes a question of whether you want the included Battlefield 1943 with an effective discount of $5 (its regular price is $15).
We've contacted EA and will update this post if we receive any official details on the Ultimate Edition.
[Thanks, Eric]

@MarkHawk The problem is the blank bullets.. you can unload your weapon on one single enemy and the guy doesn't get killed.. you have to leave the match, search for another one and hope that this new one you have actual bullets. I tried to play this mode a few weeks back and this bug still happened.

@arrrgh Played it on 360, but apparently it's a 'global' bug: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/976199.page

Its worth getting without any add-ons. Lots and lots of map variety, and tons of weapons. Game is awesome. I've put more hours into this game then any other online shooter ive ever played besides maybe the original Unreal/Unreal Tournament --> but I used to develop for that one so i'm not sure if it counts.

Hey, Chris. Thought I'd attach this to an older post since it's way off topic. I remember some time ago that you we were talking about Star Wars on BR. (At least I think it was you I was commenting with on here?) Check this out...

Good one!
I'll wait to see if Vietnam is any good, then I might buy the game again. Got bored of all those fake map packs. Great game, it just didn't click with me like the first did.

@Osnaz the 1st one was probably my favorite multiplayer shooter ever. it just felt "right." everything from the visuals to the maps to the guns. i would have been happy if they just released some more map packs for bc1.

Hmmm I may get this for the 360 since I have the pc gaming master race version already. Although a couple of friends have this game on the xbox only along with onslought and bf1943, so I can play that with my xbros. But 60 dollars idk... I only payed 30 bucks for the limited edition on pc last month. I might get it if it's on sale for 40 since it includes the arcade game too... BTW can't wait for Vietnam expansion! :D
tl;dr
Getting this to play on 360 again eventually.

Good luck with Battlefield 1943 for anyone who picks it up (whether it be in this or downloading it off of Xbox Live). That game hasn't worked well online for the past 6 months. After they shut down a good chunk of the games online servers, we're left with a game that's so laggy, it's damn near unplayable - that is if you even can get online! Sometimes it can be extremely extended periods of time before you can even find a match!

If there's anything I'm starting to learn by things like this...its that waiting pays off. I think I'm going to order less games "right away" from here on out.

I never understood why those buying the game first give Dice the initial income (60USD) then we have to buy the onslaught which is 10 bucks...Then they come out with DLC that is already on the disc you bought...only to come out with an Ultimate edition with everything for the same price less than 6 months down the road. Screw DICE for screwing their real fans, We have to spend 70+ while others spend 60.
