@ThePotato That comment came out a lot different than I meant it to sound. I meant that we could hope that a BioShock MMO is coming. I know this is a new BioShock console game.

You won't believe how badly my pants are ruined. BioShock 2 is my GOTY so far and this tore my pants apart.

It doesn't seem like Bioshock anymore. Whether it's in the sea or in the sky shouldn't matter, but the fact is that it looks much brighter than the previous iterations. Bioshock has always been a dark game at its core to me, changing it doesn't do it justice in my opinion.

@Raiki I think its trying to show how dark times are behind them, they said the civil war was 20 years ago, and when I think Civil War I think of death, and darkness.

I hope it's more like the System Shock games rather than a mindless shooter like the BioShock games.

@einhanderkiller Mindless shooter? Clearly you don't 'get' the whole persona of Bioshock. Please GTFO.

eh. the core was a mindless shooter, the story was ok but the "choices" of the little sisters didnt really add anything. its extremely overrated and the 2nd was nothing special

Clearly you've never played System Shock, compared to which Bioshock is a mindless shooter with a decent plot. Even the atmosphere Bioshock is so frequently heralded for falls short in comparison. GTFO.

at first i thought "unnecessary" and they should stop milking it. then i read Ken Levine was doing it and watched the trailer. now i'm thinking i've never been so stoked for a game.

Yes, because one sequel and one prequel over the course of 5 years is totally milking a franchise...

Maybe not milking, but they're trying too hard to add to the storyline from Bioshock 1, which imo, didn't need to be explored further.

I would consider a third game (key word: third) without the original creator behind it, a "milking" scenario.

Seriously though, I'm excited for another Bioshock game, even if this one doesn't take place under the sea.

I thought the underwater thing was getting kind of played out and I like the new direction. However, I am curious to see how the Big Daddy thing relates to the new approach.

Flying Big Daddies? Jet packs?

I passed on Bio Shock2 (may get around to it sometime) This looks more interesting to me.

Ugh, this game looks great and all, but I am too afraid of heights to even watch the last half of the trailer. Call me a baby, but I can't stand high places, I had to beg my mother when I was 10 to put me in the basement, and not in the 3rd floor.
In all seriousness, I'm glad their mixing it up, and I love the colors, feels fresh. Maybe the new bosses will be "Big Birdies".

I'm both excited, and a little trepidatious. Seems like the combat may be identical to Bioshock, probably substituting the word plasmid for something else. I would like to see a bit more evolution than that.

What? No, no....no company would ever slap a title on a barely related or completely unrelated sequel just to capitalize on it. What, do you really think the makers of System Shock would do something as crass as that?

Thick security huh? Silly me, I would think that if you want to publicize a game you should probably LET people have ways to distribute information on it.
