Test Drive Unlimited 2 delayed until Q1 2011
14
Atari and Eden Games' Test Drive Unlimited 2 has pulled into the slow lane for now, with the open-world racer missing its September debut in favor of an "early 2011" launch. Consequently, the planned beta period has also been pushed back, although players who already signed up will apparently be rewarded with "exclusive in-game content" when the final game arrives (and they'll still participate in the multiplayer test drive).
According to a message posted on the official website for Test Drive Unlimited 2, the delay will allow Eden Games to apply "a few extra months of polish" and ensure "that we deliver a robust and reliable online service from the day we go live." The new beta dates are expected to be announced "shortly."

The mass exodus of games to Q1 has begun, curse you Halo: Reach, COD Black Ops and Gran Turismo 5

considdering that they needed 6 month to patch TDU1 to a state where you had no graphic glitches (reported several times in open beta) on the PC....
delay it to Q2 2011 plz!

I'm quite certain that they learned from that experience on TDU1 and won't just leave the PC-Gamers out in the wild this time... I still hope they'd make the game have either GFW LIVE or SteamWorks on PC...
Don't get me wrong: GFW LIVE ain't that good imo, but it's still better than what TDU1's MP on PC was: GameSpy w/ non-functional club-races (especially against other clubs). Never been possible to finish the game by 100% on PC w/o cheating. -sigh-

Polish is always good. Polish sausage is not too bad either.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo! This was looking to be my most anticipated game of this year! I've had it on pre-order and fully paid for a few months now... And it was so close...
I know not many people are into TDU but I loved the first. I guess polish is good, but that's really quite gutting.

I'd rather have the game delayed to Q1 or Q2 for that matter, to avoid the glitches and such from the first game on 360. Deliver a working product from Launch Please.
