The ESRB has a listing for a potential new Buzz! game for the PS3, dubbed Buzz! Quiz Player. We can't seem to find any mention of it anywhere, so it would seem this is a new game. And, according to our research, this would be the 1,472nd Buzz! game to be released across PlayStation consoles -- trust us, our research is most thorough.
"This is a trivia game in which players compete to answer questions on a variety of topics, including sports, TV shows, movies, and music," the listing states. "Players can choose a character (e.g., cheerleader, super hero) and a sound effect that will be heard when attempting to answer questions. One sound choice sounds like a belch, and another is called 'tequila.'" Honestly, we can't imagine the kinda sound tequila itself makes -- just so long as it's nothing like that scene from Poltergeist 2. We had nightmares for weeks!

Sounds no different to Buzz Quiz TV from that description. In fact other than a single word in the name, so far there is nothing to set them apart.

I really like the Buzz! games. but for the demographic it serves (casual, not so much for little kids, or teenagers with a "C" average) new iterations of the game isn't all that attractive--especially if they already have the game!
The only change I can see is implementing Move support, new games, and giving Buzz new things to say. Totally not worth another $50-60.

both the belch and the tequila noise (which sounds like a mariachi band, by the way) were in buzz quiz world. i wonder what they could possibly add to make this a new game. i don't think i've heard all of the questions in my game yet...

Well I have Buzz Quiz TV (The first PS3 Buzz) and I just recently played Buzz Quiz World. I saw some characters removed, as well as costumes. More categories were added as well as more game modes. Quiz TV didn't have any specific categories like Quiz Worlds "Animated Springfield" (obviously an all Simpson's category).
So basically, my guess is that they will just add more categories and modes. Also, the Buzzer noises in both games seemed about the same (none added or taken away)

well if they added better online play (no mention), and making so that quick answering is more important than answering correct, the game might be an improvement (anyone who has played the "final countdown" knows that mashing the green button will win you over someone who actually reads the question!).

I've never actually had a Buzz! game, and my local shops don't carry them anymore (that I can find). Was about to order one online, then saw this. Guess I'll just wait it out a bit longer.
