Left 4 Dead 2 mutates again, DLC teased
22
Thanks to Left 4 Dead 2, Friday has become some kind of weekly masochistic holiday. This week proves no different, as the latest mutation, Iron Man, pits the survivors against the Infected with "no respawns, no restarts, no ammo, all tension." In other words, you get the ammo you start with, no one respawns and, should your whole crew bite the dust (or be bitten by dusty zombies), you'll have to start the entire campaign over again. Ouch.
In other news, the Left 4 Dead Blog also dropped some hints about upcoming DLC. Those who finished "The Passing" DLC will know that someone from the original Left 4 Dead heads off for the great Safe House in the sky (don't hit the source link if you'd like this to remain unspoiled). According to the blog, a forthcoming comic and DLC will explain exactly how the survivor kicked the bucket. We're no psychics, but we're guessing it was zombies.

A winner is that dude in the fly yellow and black shirt.
On topic: I still need to pick this game up. It's always looked pretty fun. Nobody to play with though, and the 'rando' community on Xbox Live scares me. =(

Its a great game man. I've played it all through with the bots and still enjoyed it, and I only play with friends on Live. I don't like to play with random strangers either, cause, quite frankly, I have a hard time caring if they live or die, and if you lose even one person its hard to stay alive.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze I had L4D1 on 360, it was awesome obviously, but the 360 community were not so awesome. That's why I picked up L4D2 on PC, and of course you get the occasional troll-wannabe but the game is usually much more fun. Also, L4D2 is a great game, I have about 300 hours on it, that's what I think of it

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze if you go on gamefaqs, there's usually a "chill people to play L4D2 with" list. Otherwise you just have to do the "avoid this player" thing. Sure you'll get kick-happy people, but it doesnt take that long to jump back in. Valve was having some server issues a while back not sure if that got fixed.
Scavenge is pretty fun.

@Acosta02 - See, here's the thing about that. They announced the L4D DLC back in February, and said it would be a "month or so" after The Passing's release in late April. That should be late May or even late June...maybe early July. It's the middle of August. Where's our DLC, Valve?

@Nintendo Tim - Oh, and what they don't say is that an announcement from Valve is coming next week about the DLC in question:
"So what happened with the third DLC for Left 4 Dead? Is there any new DLC on the way for L4D2? Where is the Mac version? Where is the comic? All your questions are answered, and more, next Friday August 20th on Game Trailers TV. The show airs at 12:30am on Spike."

Ah L4D So much fun, yet it has become so boring for me now =(
I preffer L4D1, so if this is the DLC they promised, then I will surely pick it up day one.

"great Safe House in the sky"
I was so hoping that meant a new campaign that takes place in a giant dirigible.

I haven't been keeping up with the mutations at all, it's been a while since I broke this game out. My friends aren't huge fans, and this isn't a game I would want to play with randoms. Some new DLC would get me back in zombie-destroying mode though.

I play this game on a regular basis, so I'm pretty excited for the new DLC.. As for this weeks mutation I only had three cans to go on the passing, but we sadly did not make it.

Gib Fest was an awesome mutation. It was like 4 Rambos running through Armageddon.

There's an instructional video to get ports of all the L4D1 campaigns to work in L4D2, complete with all the new infected and weapons and all.
