I've always wanted to grind a rainbow.

Now I might get my wish!

How long is it going to be before they run out of gimmicky names for these games? Ride! Shred! Underground! Proving Ground!

I miss the days of THPS3 :(

@thisredengine Really?? The game is being made by Levine and Irrational, not 2K Marin, and is set in a floating, travelling World's Fair.....

You just keep on not anticipating it... More for me!

Why won't they just release Tony Hawk Pro Skater games 1-4 on XBL and PSN. Just let us play graffitti mode online....

I don't get this it would take very little (in comparison) and it would make more money than this garbage!

I'd buy all of them. At $15 a pop.

THPS 1-4 for $60, OR TH:DoubleRainbow for $60... What a difficult decision!

I just... I don't get it anymore.

I kind of view Tony as that girl you're not interested in but she's interested in you and just won't get the hint even after you tell her straight to her face that you're not interested in her... Which is sad. This is the dude that could throw 900's. Now he's some chick that just won't go away...

@ytilanigiroon

Your analogy is pretty good, but you left out the beginning. The first time you got with her it was something completely new. Being with her gradually got better and better. She was throwing down more tricks than your little mind could comprehend. Riding backwards, grabbing every which way, insane special moves like the darkslide and 540 McTwist.

Then she got too big for her boots. She wanted to move out into the open world, instead of the usual places like the School, the Mall and that awesome Hangar. She wanted to get off and walk around. These things changed the dynamic of the relationship. And she started hanging around with Jackasses. Thats when I started to lose interest

I've nearly forgotten about the good times at the beginning because the middle-end was just so confusing and awful.

I don't want to play over-the-top skateboarding. I want realistic skateboarding with the options of having some over the top stuff in it going on.

I liked Tony Hawk Pro Skater because it did just that. Then it started to focus on all the extra bullcrap, like being Steve-O on a mechanical bull.... that's where I lost interest in the Tony Hawk franchise. Instead of having great levels to skate in, it became about gimmicks and lame jokes.

And then SKATE came along and gave me what I longed for. A great skateboarding experience, with the option of doing over-the-top crazy things, like launching yourself off a mountain into traffic. They knew what we wanted and they delivered. Why go back now?

It's like driving a Volvo, and then driving a Ferrari. And then Volvo comes out and says "Well, we added a spoiler to our Volvo now! Why won't you come back and drive a Volvo!!"

Tony Hawk is with Activision, Shaun White with Ubisoft... so it's not very likely.

Jeez.... ok Tony, no one has truly forgotten about you. If you want to make a respectable comeback, make a new THPS5 (yes...call it 5). Go back to the same play mechanics you had in THPS3, just add awesome HD graphics, very fun stages and awesome music. You might not claim your throne (its kinda hard to top Skate) but you will get most of your respect back and fans who know how fun the THPS series was might just support for the effort.

Please let this series die activision. As much as used to love this series, It's a shadow of it's former self. Ride was simply unplayable. Just let get go and get some of your diginity back. Oh yeah, and fire Bobby Kotick.

With your mentality... why not go out and buy a military jet, or your own nano suit, or a bunch of military guns and a ghillie suit. Why not just buy a formula 1 race care, why not just infect your whole city with a virus and try to survive. Why not work out until you can fly, run up building walls, dodge bullets, buy a real katana or go out on a quest yourself? Its a videogame... its not suppose to be the real thing... moron.

I think it's fun to have an "NBA Jam"-style skating game - nothing wrong with some arcade nonsense amongst all the accurate sims. I've had a blast with the game so far and think it's a good addition to the franchise. Also, plenty of good tunes as usual, I especially like "Kids" by Sleigh Bells, "Come My Sunshine" by The Comas, and "Where Was My Brain" by Ted Leo. Best gaming soundtrack since the original Dave Mirra Freestyle!
