Hey, fans of Apple products love stacking things on top of other things to make bigger things too, you know. That's why NetDevil recently opened up Lego Universe's closed beta process to Mac users. Potential stackers and builders can hop on the wagon by going to the game's official Beta Center and applying to join up.
These new players are getting in at an opportune time -- though the beta's currently only playable on certain days of the week, the game's official site promises that "it won't be long before the game servers will be open 24/7, which means non-stop playtime - woohoo!" That was their woohoo, not ours, though we can certainly see why that's cause for celebration.

They better let me build a character out of those massive Duplo blocks.

Sadly, I think you'll be disappointed on that missing feature.
Sad for you: Legos are incredibly superior.

I'm in it on the PC. Played it a couple times, was kinda lame but it runs like a bitch on my laptop though so didn't really give it much of a chance.

Thanks tips. Did you miss the part where I said it runs like a bitch?
In this phrase, bitch = nearly un-playable.

I've been in the closed beta since the beginning and it's a fun game. Although it is aimed towards kids, and the NDA js still in effect last I checked.
I do like running around smashing shit though.

I was playing the beta on my old desktop PC and it ran... well... good enough for me to get a feel for the game...
but when i downloaded the MAC version on my already-one-year-old 13' macbook pro it runs amazingly.
The switch was enough to convince me to pre-order the game. I love it. and i cannot wait until the servers are online 24/7... (i feel like every time i have an urge to play they're always offline... like right now)

I'm having trouble securing wifi to download it, but I've already createdy account and am hoping to get in there tomorrow. I'm intrigued with the franchise and want to give it a shot.
