It's a shame, really, but I can't say I'm surprised after the underwhelming response to the Taxidermist...
This seems like an idea that could have been quite successful if they had pulled it off right.

Ah well. I suspect most people who played the game have somewhat moved on by now, something like half a year later.

@mtlyoshi9

I loved Heavy Rain, but self-contained episodes like Taxidermist don't really seem that appealing to me. Heavy Rain was so much about the story and the mystery that I didn't get too excited by what were basically throw-away pieces.

Now, if the new episodes could actually affect the outcome of the game... something that could lead to a different ending? I'd be all over that. But it doesn't look like that's how they wanted to do it, so I think it's wise to go on to the next full project.

"all but nonexistent"

Does that mean its everything but nonexistent? Wouldn't it be proper to say that its "all but existent"? Sorry, I still don't understand that phrase.

@jaydark123

It means the chances are leading up to, but not quite, non-existent. Like another way of saying "the chances barely exist."

You mean, Heavy Rain Chronicle. I wonder if they'll update the wording in the game through a patch so as to not get my hopes up everytime I boot it up.

'Tis a shame.

Sounds like Quantic Dream will at least have some starter material for the next game. I remember reading that Cage already had the next few DLC episodes written. It's reasonable to assume some of these themes could be recycled into a new story, no?
The Taxidermist DLC was easily creepier than anything in the full game. Well, except maybe for that clown in the mall who gave Jason that possessed red balloon...

"Things that were just mentioned in the game that had a true explanation in the background, and it's a little bit unfortunate that we won't be able to tell you the full story."

Like that massive fcking red herring that has literally no actual explanation?

For those of you who want more of this style of game but haven't played Indigo Prophecy, I'd say it is worth it. Yes, it is older and the game mechanics are not as immersive as Heavy Rain, but I still really enjoyed it. If you get it for PC (e.g. from Steam), you definitely need a dual-analog controller of some sort or else you're missing out on the intended experience.

I'm not upset about it either, and I'll be happy to have a new experience when I go back with the Move to get the platinum. I'd love to be able to see the additional background stories in some way, though, especially if he's already written it. Whether a book, something for another game, or even if they just post some of it online. I'm sure that it's expensive and time-consuming to make things as realistic as the game, so I'd be perfectly satisfied with something that takes less resources. But it'd be sad if they go completely to waste.

Of everyone who would love and work so hard at being in David Cage's position, I am always mystified that David Cage himself is there. I really, really hate him.

We should have all seen this coming.

Eff Sony for killing future content in favor of Move support.

i got Taxidermist Free and i thought that too be a great DLC but not worth $5.00 it should be lower .. too bad he couldn't work on that other DLC and then put it on the disc with Taxedermist with a Move controller in the future.

I would like too see a Heavy Rain Style game from the same creators but not call it heavy rain and not have a Origami Killer have it so that it's a different type of killer and the Taxidermist idea IMO was Great cause it was really creepy.

now if David Cage were too make a game like that again with Madison and Ethan and ( maybe the FBI Guy ) trying too solve a murder or something that would be cool ( tho Ethan is a architect ) i think it would be cool.

I loved Heavy Rain, and I have a Move and sub pre-ordered. But I'd much rather have had the remaining Chronicles than Move support.

Having completed the game and taken all routes to see all endings and get the Platinum trophy, for me there's nothing to go back to it for. I enjoyed the first Chronicle, and was only really keeping the game to play the remaining stories when they were released.

I'm a Sony fan, but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed that they took this decision.

Actually it makes perfect sense. He's disappointed but not swelling on it, and he's a guy with enough ideas not have to cling to the last one like a life raft.

It's not understandable. They delayed it because of Move? Meh.

You know what would be great, David?

Just spend a day with a studio that could develop a comic based on all your background stories, to explain what you had in mind.

Then they put their interpretation on PSN. And you'll make money. Just as Naughty Dog did with the Uncharted sequels.

It's true that you wouldn't get multiple endings with this solution but it will force you to focus on a believable script.

It sounds like his plan was to offload the actual development of the DLC to others, but then either these people were unavailable or Cage was needed for technical assistance, he is too busy, so the Chronicles had to be cancelled.
