Played the X360 version with some co-workers. Incredibly UN-FUN and utterly confusing. Just felt like a typically-designed Japanese game: heavy on the dialogue, short on most everything else.

Just my $.02

@yipcanjo Maybe the game would actually be fun with some decent controls, like what you could get on a PC? I thought the demo had its moments, but I just can't use dual analog for shooters anymore.

@yipcanjo

I played a lot of Japanese games and recent Capcom games completely feel westernized.

It's games like this that make international Japanese companies realize that they don't make money just appealing to the Japanese market.

I couldn't get through the original Lost Planet PC demo without a hard crash. Capcom's PC ports don't turn out well. Probably not going to waste my time with the demo.

Interesting. I've found that Capcom does PC pots better than anyone else.

RE5 on the PC was a great port regardless if you liked the game or not.

@FriedConsole Lost Planet was Capcom's last bad port. Since then we've had SFIV, RE5 and DMC4 all of which run absolutely perfectly even on mid-range hardware.

The first Lost Planet, while the story and voice work wasn't too good, was great fun to play. The controls were a bit awkward but after that you get really nice graphics and cool effects, best rocket launcher in any game I've played.

The steam version of the first ran fine on my C2D/4870 on Vista, shame this game doesn't sound all that great.

I have 3D Vision and seeing these creatures in 3D on a 88" screen would be quite the sight to behold. Just sucks that the game...sucks.

I was actually about to buy the PS3 version last Thursday but I didn't.

I hope modding will be available for the game. I can think of some interesting things to work with, character skins basically.

it would be monsterhunter-esque if the giant AKs werent merely fights at the end of missions. Most regrettable day 1 purchase for me in recent memory.

I rented it. I thought it was a decent online co-op shooter. Nothing extraordinary, but it had some fun moments.

Your teammates AI in the single player was pretty horrible though. The train mission took me about 40 minutes off line. I had to man the cannon, feed the ammo, shoot flying aknids, and cool the engines all by myself while my teams mates stood in a huddle facing the wall. Jerks!

So since the PC is faster than a console and can display more pixels on screen, I'm going to assume split-screen is going to be removed. I mean, it only makes sense... ugh.

LP2 could have been game of the year if linking up to co-op games online wasn't so horribly difficult, and if the friendly AI wasn't embarassingly horrible. Like, Capcom should seriously be *embarassed* with how bad computer-controlled teammates do in that game.

If you're going to make a game that basically relies on playing with three friends (and is virtually unplayable without), the link-up system should be flawless.
