We can forget our worries about Metroid: Other M for just a few minutes, thanks to this trailer. While we watch it, we can let our continuing concerns about the number, length and melodramatic content of cutscenes within Team Ninja's upcoming Wii game fall away as we enjoy wall-to-wall action.
We learn nothing at all of Samus's past in these clips, nor about her feelings, save for the fact that she feels like not being eaten by a lava worm thing. Instead, we see Metroid: Other M as we first imagined it: as a Metroid game with the speed and intensity of the combat dialed way up. We'll find out soon enough how realistic this version is.
@AkumaFTW There are tons of current gen games that look like crap compared to certain lower resolution games. Just because it's in 1080p doesn't make it better. Play Quake 2 on maximum settings vs Quake 4 in 640x480 medium settings. Guarantee that, while the lower resolution might not be the greatest, Quake 4 will look better.
OP makes a very, very good point. Some games like No More Heroes and Mario Kart are fine in 480p, but some like Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess really get some of the atmosphere removed because of the low resolution of the Wii.
Nintendo fanboys (of which I am one of) are some of the most blinded fanboys out there. I can almost guarantee that had the PS3 and 360 done 480p, and the Wii done HD then you would be bragging about how great it looks.
OP was not hating on the Wii, he was merely point out the fact that 480p looks like ass on a HDTV. And he has a point.
The Joystiq comment system really is a cesspool of shit.
@Esposch The way I see it (speaking as a Nintendo fan who likes to think of himself as kind of logical) the only fanbase more sheeplike than Nintendo fans are Nintendo detractors. It's sad how both sides of the Wii argument are complete idiots, for the most part anyway.
They gotta sell the game, right? Exploration doesn't move units like flash does.
Much like how Monster Hunter games are advertised through the monster hunting, when the real appeal of the game, loot gathering, is one that doesn't translate into advertisement well.
@Vuvuzelas considering it's team ninja, and they actually improved the boob physics going from ninja gaiden on xbox to sigma on ps3, I'm willing to bet the original samus had jiggle physics and NOA made em take it out!
I know that this is a typical response to a Wii game, but I'm gunna say it anyway. It's about time we started seeing some more "hardcore" games for the Wii. Of course , when it comes to the Wii, I am often disapointed. I'm not bashing the Wii, It just sucks is all.
Ouch!, I keep forgetting how sensitive Wii owners are. Look, I legitimately want to give this game a chance. BUT, I am entitled to my opinions of the console it is made for.
"Ouch!, I keep forgetting how sensitive Wii owners are."
yeah, just as sensitive as you would be if we bashed your console right? or wait, maybe you think your console is some divine being and is "teh gr3at3st c0ns0l3 EVAR!! no m@tt3r wut" right?
actually, I own 4 systems. Wii,PS3,360, and DS... and each one has it's own drawbacks. You are being far too high strung over a simple little comment. It is bordering on a temper tantrum. So you can keep crying about it, but I'm done justifying myself to someone acting like a child.
I'm more concerned about switching the gear... If you have to go into an equip screen every time you need the grapple beam, or a certain weapon, or whatever; it could be kind of annoying and tedious.
selling metroid prime trilogy for $$ towards other m. Reply if you're interested.
I'm on a media hiatus for this game. Do we really need more trailers at this point? Isn't it out in like 2 weeks? I don't want to spoil anything else! ^_^
