In the market for some classic puzzle-platformer action? Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus have both been permanently marked down to $5.99 on the DRM-free digital distribution service, GoG.com. Frankly, we can't think of a better way to wind down the summer than by saving a bunch of Mudokons (and saving some cash). Follow us!

Good grief! I read that as 'Oddworld games permanently shut down' and almost died. Not that it would make much difference from the past six years, but all the same ...

I think it's time I play these games again. I played them back in... elementary or middle school and enjoyed them, but wasn't that great at 'em.

I hope the PSONE classics follow suit.

Ooh, that's good. I was just considering the PSN versions, but this is much better.

I would love to read any kind of update on Stranger's Wrath. The game still only exists on the original XBOX. No PC, PS3, XB360, or SNES versions to be played.

Their excuse for the delay was because there was "unique programming tricks we did with the XBox hardware that we're having a hard time duplicating on computers."
Which is utter bullshit. The XBox used a Celeron-based 733Mhz. Pentium 3, and an nVidia-based video chipset and sound system based on their hardware at the time.
How the hell could you have trouble on modern hardware duplicating something that hardware did? It was almost off-the-shelf stuff. I think it's just an excuse, myself.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm thinking of Oddworld or GTA1/2.
