You know that sound that cartoon characters make when they blink their eyes because someone says or does something ridiculous? Yeah, I wish I could make that sound right now.

@Brian333

It's great to see a company take risks now and then, so I applaud their risk-taking-balls. On a serious note though, I'm with you about the blinking noises.

Since it's Xbox only, it's probably not much of a risk. I figure Microsoft paid them to develop it and in return, it's an exclusive, possibly a timed exclusive similar to Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean.

@2late2die Yeah, wrong, but hilarious! He's all buff, in his underwear, and has a carrot tattoo! LOL.

"Gun Loco is set on a prison planet (which, for some reason, has Earth-like ruins throughout) "

Dammit, Joystiq, way to ruin the whole twist.

@Acosta02 The planet is probably Mars.

And the question remains.
Is this an RPG?
And how deep is it going to be?

@Acosta02

Sounds like it's going to be arena-type gameplay. I would imagine similar to Monday Night Combat or Battlefield Heroes.

Man, this sure does sound familiar. There's a game that's like, so similar to this, isn't there? Something about people with guns, on a planet full of nutcases and criminals and old ruins...and like, you fight in a squad of four...and they have cartoonish, Cell-shaded graphics...

Not that Squeenix would ever bogart someone else's idea, of course.

Oh but it's on the tip of my tongue...

I know you were joking, but it took me a good 10 seconds to realise you were talking about Borderlands...

I really need to pick that game up.

It's that Cliffy B thing. Bulletstorm, something like that.

Would have liked seeing much more:

"Gun Loco is set in an extra-dimensional jail (which, for some reason, does not obey normal space-time laws) where the universe's worst criminals are tortured and toyed with by the jail's demented warden."

I dig games that go out there with their design. With all the hardware power in people's homes I'm surprised there aren't more games that are more "animated" for lack of a better description but still have great detail that more realistic games use.

Let's just hope this has gameplay to match the design philosophy.

So it's a prison planet, entirely filled with Mexicans, with no supervision, and all they do is kill each other?

That is some fabulous ethnocentric social commentary Japan.

GG.

I haven't heard of a game design concept like this since ClayFighter, and how awesome was that game? C'mon.

High hopes here.
