Toy Story 3 Hybrid Premium Edition contains PS3 game and original movie
24
If your concern for the well-being of mother nature has already led you to purchase a hybrid automobile, you might want to think of incorporating your environmentalist considerations into other aspects of your shopping habits. For instance, if you were thinking about picking up Avalanche's video game adaptation of Toy Story 3, perhaps you'd be interested in the title's "Hybrid Premium Edition," which includes the game and the original Toy Story film on a single Blu-ray disc for $64.99.
A recent PlayStation.Blog post announced that the bundle will be released to retailers this week, so keep an eye out for it at your local brick and mortar in the coming days. In the meantime just think about all the endangered species you're preserving by placing the two products into one container.

Cool but why not make a premium version with the Toy Story 3 for this holiday season? I already own the first one on VHS, DVD, and now Blu-Ray.

It will be 20 bucks within a year. I'll wait 'til then.

They should make a version that includes Toy Story 2 as well. Because I already own 1.

Licensed =/= Shovelware. Apparently it's a pretty good game.

Interesting, but I'll be impressed when the "hybrid" game disc means the game system can render the movie in real time. It will just be a matter of processing horsepower and software.
At that point it won't matter what resolution my display is, and upgrading the media (DVD>Blu-Ray>whatever) will be pointless.

Exactly what I was thinking. And it would actually make sense.

this seems kinda half-assed to me!
why not wait until Toy Story 3 is released to the home market and do the Hybrid Edition release with that, OR bundle Toy Story 1 & 2 along with the game?
the way they chose is worse to the game only being bundle with Toy Story 2!

I like this idea ! but the only thing that get's me is the price .. i'l wait for it too go down in price ( as watchmen didn't take long AT ALL after i payed original price for it ) by why is it called Hybrid edition .. to help the Environment ? or does some of the money go in to help Environment causes .. why can't tey call it Toy Story 3 Game/Movie Combo Pack.

i already own them on blu-ray like any fan should, but, this is exiting because this is the second time i seen that a game is packed with a movie (District 9, GOW3 demo being the first)... goes to show you that blu-ray was the best format to go with.

is it possible to get toy story 3 with the game as well?

If the can get an entire movie and game on one disc, why do they keep releasing movies with multiple Bluray discs? Shouldn't TV shows come on fewer discs? I don't understand how movies and shows can take up so much memory, but games don't seem to take nearly as much.

@garnsr First off, memory =/= disk space. Two very different things.
Second, games take up the same if not more space them movies. That is why they can bundle the movie (relatively small) on a blu-ray that has a full game on it.
Blu-ray movie releases having more then one disk: I have never seen this done with movies. The DVD version may come with a second disk for the extras, but every movie I have seen comes with everything on one disk.
TV shows on fewer disks: They are on fewer disks when compared to DVDs. An entire season of something like Smallville (22 episodes), with DVD extra, can be put on three blu-ray disks compared to six DVDs (I checked this on Amazon). Blu-rays have a lot more space then DVDs, but its not infinite.

Like other people have said, they should have gone with a toy story 3 bundle since it is the one that hasn't been released yet.

but not the 2nd one? Admittedly it's the weak one in the trilogy, but it has it's place there.

$65? How about if you already have the game saving yourself some money and just buying the movie separately for cheaper?

This is similar to the upcoming hybrid release of the Macross Frontier movie and the game Macross Trial Frontier on a single Blu-Ray disc.
