5th Cell's a growing company. I'm just not sure about utilizing the Source Engine for its future projects... I guess it's a good place to start, but you'd think someone (Sony, EA?) would pick them up.

Well, obviously Nintendo would be in that list of suitors... Maybe it's the pessimist in me, but jumping into an alleged FPS project seems so different than what 5th Cell really excels at...

Wait, what? Somebody already did pick them up: Warner Bros.

And as pointed out below, unless it's been alleged somewhere else, Source can do whatever genre you program it to be. There was even a playable version of a real-time strategy mod for Half-Life 2 a while back, though I don't know if the team ever properly finished it.

5TH Cell is not owned by WB Games.

Huh. Apparently you're right. I could've sworn I'd read some time ago that WB had acquired 5th Cell, but I guess I had a memory snafu. My mistake.

Exactly! They're going to try and release a game and be like "****! Someone's already done this!"

"Valve's FPS-friendly Source engine"

more like "Valves any genre-friendly Source engine". Source can do pretty much any type of game, and it can do it quite well too!

It will be a type what you want First Person Shooter (on the PC), but you are not allowed to use the Keyboard to move. All actions must be done with the mouse only.

Once can definitely imagine they've gotten some inspiration from Gary's Mod. Can't wait to see it.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that this game is physics-based, since that (if I'm not mistaken) is seen as one of the strongest elements of the Source engine and environmental puzzle-based gameplay seems to fit in conceptually with 5th Cell's oeuvre - at least moreso than a traditional FPS.
